Wow, it's been a hot minute since I've read something with a character as punchable as the dad here.

wow i shouldn't have read that so early in the morning. im kind of grateful i came out after the family members who would've reacted like that already died so i never had to deal with it, but it still hits way too close to home. i hope she's allowed to be herself by the story's conclusion.

i don't know why i put off reading this so long but going through all the chapters so far in a couple hours was a hell of an experience. definitely subscribed now. i love how flawed and multifaceted everyone is, like they truly feel like real people that we get this window to peek in at. current arc with her little... sister, i guess? is very compelling, and i want that kid's dad to get the shit kicked out of him asap.

also very much appreciate how grounded and realistic the age gap dynamic is, and how they're both childish and mature in ways that often clash. i enjoy age gap yuri a LOT but it's rare i read something that portrays it with this much teeth. huge thanks to the scanlators, i'll have to show the author my support too

trans rep in yuri is always so nice to see even if the poor girl is going through hell right now. Xingyuan seems to be supportive of her, and the story is definitely framing her dickhead father as the bad guy so at least she has that going for her

I feel like we do need some kind of phobia tags and/or bigotry for a chapter like this. The warning would be nice with how hard this chapter is to read.

I mean, we knew these parents were bad, but not that bad... Although based on the flashback bit, mom at least did care about the daughter they gave away, unlike the rest of the family doing their worst to convince her to give it a rest.

I think the mother might care but doesn't know how to speak up or act against the other members of the family, usually due to family hierarchy, and I'm guessing this is a very patriarchal family. Not to say that lets her off the hook but it could explain her circumstances at least.

I'm reminded of the recently translated Homecoming story and the epilogue.

Those parents are complete assholes. Xiaoyang is my favorite character of this series, so it's nice to finally reach these chapters.

She also never really gets a word in during this scene and looks just as scared to speak up.

I think the author/character/person decides that (and I don't think Xiaoyang changes what language they use or how they see themselves).
