One day i will read a manga where the SA doesnt feel like its just there for shock factor or cheap revenge plots but today is not that day. Like fr im not opposed to ppl writing about it but in 90% of cases you could entirely remove the SA and the story wouldnt change one bit.
Most manga that treat SA as real issue and focus on the trauma or its consequence are usually psychological/drama ones. I doubt manga from the new wave of hero fantasy setting for revenge porn could nail such a heavy topic, so yeah, as disappointing as it may sound don't get your hope up to begin with
This is a classic “hero’s journey” type story. (That’s a legitimate story structure, look it up) I hope the group of four could be more distinguished in terms of character in the future, because…I just don’t like it when they treat any character closely associated with the protagonist only like some tool or joke.
And I should give it a thumbs up just because it isn’t isakai from the beginning.
Frankly I don’t think the “rape” part is really worth that big deal discussion at all. Mostly because it makes sense for this setting, and that it was just told about and wasn’t dwelled on.
Also I normally don’t like any “fate” setting for a hero and stuff from a higher being. It’s like the soulmate setting. Two people are destined to be compatible to each other and even though they may be insufferable for each other at first, their own curiosity for the reason (aka the author’s intentions) will push them together again and again. Not to mention it gave away the ending at first sight…
So I just basically hope that the protagonist could make more of her own path (a reasonable one, that part when they did the thing with the sword kind of confused me), and also find out what the goddess is about.
150 years is insanity…I am not even sure if she really wants to be a braver after all that. That’s enough time for some serious mental crisis to happen.
But it’s good that she still remembers the world she lives in.
So we’re already at the “resist the call” stage, fascinating…
A classic kind expedition with a lady protagonist, looking forward to that!
It's no prunus girl but welcome back to dynasty Mastumoto Tomoki. This has a pretty similar plot concept to works like sexiled or roll over and die, but that's not a bad thing. I'm curious how the characters are gonna develop and what their revenge fantasy/journey will look like.
One thing that I find interesting, and am looking forward to seeing how it plays out, is that the protagonist explicitly rejected the goddess' divine strength. In a story like this, especially in the other series like sexiled or roll over and die that I mentioned above, the protagonists have a special power which gives them the capacity to triumph over their foes.
In this story, the focus on "brute strength" and on the societal belief of men being better than women is in the foreground, but by rejecting the goddess's power Lisa is explicitly rejecting that worldview as well. Rather than winning by way of the game set up by the male dominated society, she's forging her own path, with only her 150 years of training to improve her odds against her foes. It seems like she's explicitly intending on using skill and expertise to trump the brute strength that both the male dominated academy and the goddess herself claimed was necessary.
those tags scared the shit outta me, seems intriguing however, we shall see if it is worth it
This one is kinda just meh to me. Ch 1 was edgy but not like, Goblin Slayer edgy, that would probably shown the bandits "playing" with her corpse.
This feels like an edgy and incoherent regurgitation of five hundred other manga series. It's like it was made by an AI that is somehow also an emo boy.
It's pretty easy to tell an AI to be an emo boy.
I stopped reading this crap as soon as I saw a male character and the "rape" tag.
I'm really afraid to read anything tagged "yuri" because it might contain something that's traumatizing to me. You just don't care? Anything is yuri to you, as long as it involves two or more women.
Thankfully it doesn’t show it. Just flipped through the pages a bit.

Read Cross Heart by AnaKris if you haven't yet. The SA isn't for shock value or glorified in any way and the story instead deals with the aftermath of it and how it changed the character in question, including all the anxiety, fear and self-harm that comes with it. The character also doesn't just magically get fixed by their love interest, so the story feels much more grounded.

Follow 404 men not found
only if all you care is "no men".
And duh can you stop being so weird
(the way it was used by Tim Walz) under every comment section of something you don't like? Quit reading if you don't like it, gee, delete your account and go find a yuri purist community somewhere else, for all I care.

"The Hero I aspired to be is nothing like that!" spoken like the true hero...
The funny part is that the goddess herself said that "The execution of justice is the Hero's duty". When the MC rejected the goddess's reason for choosing her, confusing justice and revenge, I felt like she was just demonstrating exactly why the goddess would choose her.
I feel like the goddess picks the hero via morality rather than anything else.

Well, that was the worst of two worlds: started as an edgelord revenge fantasy only to become a boring pretentious dEc0nstRuct10n oF th3 Fant4sy gENr3.
Shame Dynasty will waste bandwidth and server space with it.
I always end up dropping these power fantasy isekai series, even when the gimmick is "yuri". So far, I don't feel too differently about this one...
I don't understand why the reaction here is so negative. I didn't think these 3 chapters were a masterpiece or anything but I thought they were overall pretty good, and like @Cornonthekopp said it's notable that Elizabeth rejected getting superhuman strength and is (seemingly?) going to succeed via other means. And frankly, I don't even think this was that edgy; as rape as backstory goes it was pretty tastefully done, we don't even see anything (the two consecutive black pages were actually quite striking and memorable to me), and the gore is hardly over-the-top either. It feels kind of like people are letting their (understandable) bias against the dark fantasy genre color their views on the actual work.
I also in general am happy to see any yuri work that doesn't focus just on romance; as much as I enjoy romance, I think it's also very important to see sapphic relationships centered in other genres as well.

I agree, it feels to me like people online often act on some weird impulses alone. They see isekei, men or rape tags, they already hate the manga, the author and their whole family. And for some reason they always have to inform everyone that they don't like it. I see the same exact behavior on other sites too. "I don't like rpgs, I won't play it". Yes, you are such an important person. If YOU don't play it, surely the game will fail.
"I hate it, bye" is just a useless post in a discussion. At best you cause some negativity, I guess that's the goal.
Anyway, these three chapters were fine. I also liked Goblin Slayer but I was thankful the torture stuff wasn't drawn out this time. It's also nice to see some male companions that seem to be supportive. Since Lisa rejected her godly strength, I hope for more struggles and teamwork.
If she plans to reforge it anyway, wouldn't it be much better to get as much of the metal as she possibly can, instead of just the pommel and the hilt?
Make something else out of the excessive metal if you can, like some armour or something.
Her 150 years of training make 0 sense and this is what really infuriates me. It is exactly like Naruto trained for 3 years under Jiraya to make bigger Rasengan (which he rarely used or were impactful). The training seems useless, at this point (hopefully we get to see, what she really learnt during her training).

Well, I'm not sure if it'll be for me. The chapter 1 was interesting, the end brutal but logical in that settings. But I don't like the change of tone of MC, sure for her there was a lot of years. But I feels like it'd be more interesting to see her struggle and lacking confidence in her skill, rebuild her self-esteem all while being the new hero.
I'll keep reading it to see where it's going though.

I'm pretty sure that's just Elon responding in place of Grok.

at least some people give their opinions on way they don’t like the manga and more reasons, but sure bruh, what's only glazing the story and pretending is this amazing manga! wow opinions !
also stop this bullshit of reduction of people actually critique of the story, it also HELPS people like me that wanna read the comments FIRST before reading any story to get a grasp if i wast my time and emotional investment in a manga, and if it was only full of people that enjoy it that will give me a wrong impression, a more truthful opinions about the manga helps a lot to decided if i wanna read a story or not

I have a soft spot for basically any genre fiction with a lesbian theme but even so chapter 1 was more compelling than I expected (I read the comments first, which was a good idea in hindsight). I like how this played with my expectations on just how bad the men at the academy were going to be, and I was honestly surprised that all of them were worse than they seemed at first.
On the topic of rape as backstory, maybe the story could have been told without it, but I personally don't find it offensive here. Elizabeth's torture and murder at the hands of the criminal gang is not an isolated event but the horrible conclusion of the sexism she endured at the hero academy, or perhaps even her punishment for aspiring to be a hero despite her sex, which makes it hard for me to view it as being included for shock value. And treating it like a Bad End in a video game (with the complete blackout you mentioned) also makes sense because she actually died there.
I would say the weak point of this so far is the drawings. Lots of manga series with actually dog water writing have been carried to success by amazing drawings, and at this point this series has merely good artwork.

well, I don't dislike it the way I thought I would
Pretty stupid so far. The story initially gunning for a rape/revenge angle before essentially wiping the slate clean with an offscrean century of training, followed by the introduction of (what initially appear to be, though I would be happy to be proven wrong) a cute wholesome team of adventuring buddies, is flatly dumb. The emotional and thematic throughlines of the first chapter are just...gone by chapter 3. Rape to make the new team dynamic more comforting. Rape as a hook to a generic fantasy story.
But also the first thing this party does is literally a homestuck bit. That's been stuck in my head since I first read it. They do the exact same thing Dave did when he couldn't pull that sword from a rock. I honestly might keep reading to see if future adventures also are comedy gags played straight. That's not to say that I like it—this manga feels like a mess from basically every angle story-wise—but it might end up being very, very funny, which is kind of like being good if you squint
I may get a lot of hate for this, but am I the only one who doesn't feel bad for her? Like, her bad ending happened because she's so stupid and makes terrible choices.
1/ She accepted an offer from a guy without an ounce of suspecting anything, even though she just suffered a betrayal from 2 men she thought were her friends.
2/ Then proceeded to not looking anything about the mission and go for it WITH A BROKEN ARM!
3/ And the worst thing is, even if she hadn't known beforehand, she would have been fine had she kept her stealth. She already killed two guys with out anyone noticing, but somehow she decided to Leeroy Jenkins on the last one? Even if that actual just 1 guy, you do realize that you will have to fight him WITH A BROKEN ARM, right!?
