Yeah no this chapter LOST ME like what do you mean you fired that lady for taking care of her kid?
So what you also have a kid the same age as hers....ok and? Everybody parents differently, just because you put that stuff aside doesn't mean everybody else should too, people's living situations are different and that is also going to effect the way you take care of a child.
This is ridiculous idgaf that we used to be lovers, that would disgust and sour me so bad, I wouldn't be able to look at them the same after that, much less ask them to go to a bar with the rest of the employees.
I would more than likely begin to look for employment elsewhere.

I'm having second thoughts about this series...it seemed like a strong premise at first, but the black haired woman seems a lot more antagonistic than I expected.

Something about this just feels...off? I can't really explain it.

My take is Fuyu probably worked for a 'black company' or smth where she was treated as expendable. Considering she has a kid too, she probably went through something similar or lost work in the past because she prioritised her kid in the past, and from the dialogue, she prob doesn't see that view as 'wrong' (internalised trauma, our beloved) - ala why she doesn't see her outburst as wrong. (It does line up with the 'China work culture bad' trope that pops up in a lot of media, which bleh, so if I'm correct, I hope they don't draw that connection because stereotypes of real groups of people are bad lmao.)

I love reading messy drama

(Edit: Also firing/retaliating against an employee because they have to take care of their kid during an emergency is, like, a labour violation and very illegal... at least here in Australia. A fever could be technically a medical emergency for a young child. Since they're in a daycare, the kid would be ~1-6 y/o)

Yeah, she's just so off-putting that it's making this manga hard for me to read.
I do like reading about a messy lesbian affair where the married woman is in a comphet relationship, but it feels hard to imagine it going that way at this point. Or at least it will be taking awhile to get to that point.

Going forward, I'll probably lurk the comments looking for signs of development instead of just getting more and more upset with the dark haired woman every chapter.

I highly recommend watching the original drama this manga is based on at the rate they are releasing chapters. 3 chapters in 2 months and they haven't even covered all of episode 1's content yet and episode 1 is only around 25 minutes. If they keep this up, it feels like it'll be 4-5 chapters per episode which is kinda crazy to me for a monthly release schedule.

Dynasty gonna have to add a new tag
babies conceived through pure dramatic potential

Or maybe it was unprotected hand-holding?

A bold reading, but there is strong textual evidence for it

I rest my case, Your Honor!

This just reeks of stupid drama edgyness, though probably Asian work culture can be like that (esp. that you are then expected to play nice and get drunk with her).

I recommend watching the drama. While some elements of the "stupid drama" may still linger in the drama, the show is executed much better and doesn't come across as half-assed or sloppy like it does in the manga. As someone who has watched the drama, I understand what they're aiming for with the manga and the drama moments, but the execution here feels rushed and, at times, even like a fan-made adaptation. :\

Bisexual and Cheating tags pls.

For someone so against cheating, it didn't take her long to slip.

We don't know if its a real marriage yet. Also dunno if the daughter is bio, step, or adopted either.

okay re-reading the first chapter did Itsuki pretend to cheat on Hayashi because she somehow believed it was better for Hayashi to not be with her??? Because like, no way did Itsuki actually cheat considering how badly in love she still is.

Sucks though, because now Hayashi is like eight years married to a man and has a daughter and I really don't see any evidence that this is anything but a real marriage, if one that she might be less happy with than she herself has always tried believing. You don't just kiss a woman you're convinced cheated on you if you're not on some level extremely desperate to be with her again...

Definitely recommending everyone who’s upset about Fuyu watch the drama or at least wait until there’s 10 chapters of this. The toxic yuri really only lasts 30 seconds (exaggerated) in reality but the pacing of the chapters really isn’t doing her any favors lol. She’s not that bad guys, swear.

That being said, it’s definitely extremely obvious how Fuyu still pines for Itsuki through the art. I love seeing how hurt Itsuki’s reactions to Fuyu’s attacks are, it’s a good depiction of how breakups can linger between both people when unresolved

I kind of disagree (though I definitely still recommend watching the drama). The 1st season of the drama was fairly weak in terms of storytelling and making the conflict/drama between Fuyu and Itsuki believable, but I'm feeling hopeful that the manga is taking steps to try and remedy that. You can tell they're making story/characterization adjustments by the inclusion of Itsuki's gamer backstory in Chapter 1, which doesn't even get a single mention until Season 2 of the drama. I don't know exactly how they're going to handle some of the rougher elements of the drama's story (chiefly the lack of reasonable justification for why Fuyu is such an "evil boss" to everyone at the company, and Itsuki's absolute brain-dead and uncharacteristically cruel way of dumping Fuyu in college), but my hope is that they're aware of these weaknesses and have plans to smooth them out.

Compared to Season 1 of the drama, I don't get the impression that the manga is sloppy at all, at least when it comes to storytelling. Maybe the slower pace (seems like around 5 chapters per episode?) is making it feel more disjointed and less cohesive than the drama?

Really hope there's more to the breakup than "mom didn't approve" that would justify breaking up and lying to your partner "for their own good" cuz that's such a tired trope.

Talk about dramatic, sure only the reader knows the reason why she left but this kind of harassment sucks.
