Somebody please spell out for me what is so troubling about that last page. (I’m not quite clear what is happening in the “OW!” panel—my first thought is that she got some of Mitsuki’s black polish on her own hand and broke a nail trying to scrape it off. And further, that every little thing reminds her of her gf, distracting her from studying.)

But I could certainly be misreading it.

"Romance interferes with studies, throttle back on romance" occurs a lot in fiction, and sometimes in real life. Your implication that the people worrying (likely based on experience) are mentally ill is utterly rude and uncalled for.

That looks more like blood to me, and her other nails are in a pretty horrible state as well, so she very much seems to be overworking herself and worrying too much, to the extent of destroying her own nails with nervous scratching.

Ok, I can see that reading. Aya’s nails definitely are longer on previous pages. But given that the drama in this series has hardly been tragic and is usually resolved pretty fluffily, “Aya seems anxious about studying” strikes me as a hell of a long way from “incoming divorce arc.”

I'm probably going to regret getting into this, but I feel like I should point out, you mentioned anti-depressants and while they are not prescribed exclusively for depression that did seem to be the implication in your post. Depression is as a mental disorder, so if what you meant was "excessive pessimism" and not depression, I don't think the fault lies with the person who replied to you.

That being said, while I do agree that this probably won't be a "divorce arc", the last page does read as ominous to me. I'm not sure where the author is going with it, though.

I think Aya just wants to fit in with Mitsuki's family and future and she's decided all on her own that she MUST learn English to do that. She wants to understand the lyrics. She picked English as her focus for university. The three people she really likes all can do it. This might be the first time she was trying for something she wants that much. It doesn't seem like they know exactly how bad she's feeling about it because she is having fun with Mitsuki otherwise.

It looks like Mitsuki is currently happy in the moment and thinking everything is great while Aya wants to be happy, but is mentally stuck in plans/scenarios as she's done in past chapters. Before she was focused on ways Mitsuki could stay with her and now that Mitsuki seems to be in a good place, cooler than ever even, she's decided she has to do this to stay with her because that's how she's wired to be.

I was trying to point out how your tendency to make sarcastic comments can sometimes make them misleading or come off as rude, even when the situation doesn't seem to warrant it. But it doesn't seem like you're willing to take any criticism, anyway.

it looks to me like Mitsuki is picking at her hangnails until she draws blood in the last page. As somebody who has the same nervous tick and constantly has to put up with small but painful wounds on fingers, I can relate.

Whether this as any connection or symbolism to her relationship with Aya, I couldn't tell.

Mitsuki probably uses the quick-drying stuff, while Aya's probably painting her nails with slower drying polish that has a prettier finish.

I can back this up, I'm out of the loop with nicer nail polish and have only ever used cheaper quick drying kinds, so I'd have a lot to learn from people more knowledgeable about nail care and products.

I don't think that was explicit. Could be another reason Aya has thrown herself at English.

It was in the previous chapter--Aya wants to learn English because it will open up the world of Western music to her, and also (real reason) she wants to fully understand Mitsuki's lyrics.

Yeah, check the previous couple of chapters. She ended up pulling an all-nighter by herself when she tried studying with Mitsuki.
