GN FluffyCow, if you check this post out, in the morning, I just want to say, I totally missed Mamiya's hands around Kuzawa's throat at the end there. That obviously changes everything. That takes Mamiya's words from simple emotional blackmail, to a way WAY darker and scarier place. Um so yeah. I concead the point.
It's funny how missing one single detail, (admittedly a glaring one) can change your whole perspective on a story.

Ah okay, interesting!

Murder and sucide is a bit too much, maybe Kuzawa will just leave one day, either way, I think fucked up people can have fucked up relationships until, well..they can last a long time, until something happens, which is not death. Now I gotta look more from this author.

People shouldn't underestimate how bad these relationships can get, and murder in abusive relationships IRL happens. Mamiya was already shown to be completely unhinged and willing to turn the tables at any time with the strangling, I think it's more than possible that she could eventually kill Kuzawa and not bat an eye about it. I think it's also possible that after years of feeling trapped in this relationship Kuzawa could one day snap and just beat Mamiya to death, probably in a moment of sudden uncontrolled rage. Along with possible regret afterward and potential suicide.

I figured I'd check the discussion one last time after properly waking up but I don't want to keep talking about it in all honesty. Their relationship is legitimately scary and disgusting to me.

Oh, you Americans are so pure.

Oh, you Americans are so pure.

If you're not American, why are you just assuming others on here are? Not that being American would have anything to do with it, most people think abuse is bad.

the fact that i am unsettled and my first reaction was "isn't therapy free in japan?" really sells it for me. especially the ending.

First time through I thought this was just horrifying, but re-reading it more carefully, it's pretty funny.

As well as horrifying.

Wow, this is a masterpiece of psychological horror. It's kind of hilarious to see people claim this is "fetishizing abuse," we have a name for that subgenre of fiction and it's "dark romance". You might notice it has a positive word, "romance," that is something completely absent from this story. These are two people trapped in misery and torment, unable to untangle themselves because they're pulling in opposite directions. This is not a romance, it's hell. An absolutely wonderfully unpleasant creation, I applaud tmfly for pulling it off.

What a complicated love life they have.
They both twisted yet compatible.
I now understand the whole "I love you but I don't love you"-- they do love each other in their own way.
She loves her but she couldn't tell her she loves her in her way because the way she loves her is twisted that she can only love her abnormally..

Found this story enjoyable and the insight I got from the comments here didn't dissapoint! I can almost see this in a book with a collection of short stories of "interesting" dynamics between characters, and it almost feels like this is one of those stories that you can 'smell' the atmosphere, this musky undertone that makes my heart race while it doesn't go beyond where it's considered pornographic.

Will be rereading this alot!

Having seen and been through some similar forms of abuse firsthand, of the "I'm so pathetic and helpless without you" variety, this felt astonishingly realistic in vibes despite how heightened and dramatic their particular scenario is. And yeah, I really can't see how this is supposed to be fetishizing the abuse when it's presented so clearly as a bad relationship in both directions. On some level they deserve each other, but I hope they split up (without any strangling involved) and get some therapy instead.

It seems as though they're all friends or at least know each other. They formed a circle called "Monophobia," for this release. It's made up of:

  • Sal Jiang (Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko, Wicked Spot, Black&White)
  • Tamifull (How Do We Relationship)
  • Yuni (I Love You So Much I Hate You)
  • Kuwabara Tamotsu (Destroy It All and Love Me in Hell!)

Its now wonder they're all so great. They must have fed off each other. Having a good circle really helps in writing.

This is why I don't date rich girls, someone richer than you can have so much control over you
I've lived all my life as lower class or or as lower middle class and I hate it but the last thing I want is to date someone who has everything handed to them, it makes for a fucked up person who from the lack of hurdles to overcome in their life just make up some with their minds.
No one ever kept her in check because she's rich and it's what allowed this to happen.
Anyway it was well written and I liked it despite the horrifying situation.
People on here should know that shit like this is everywhere, you just don't see it because abusers know how to hide from whoever would snitch, never assume a relationship is healthy if you barely know them because you never know what happens once they're alone together (I've seen so much fucked up shit with my friends and family, I am not very trusting).

Now this is that fucked up shit that I love. Theres a lot of yuri abuse lately which is a nice change from the ‘yuri is the purest form of love’ puritan attitude.

Oww.. I have to agree on this.
The genre Yuri which depicts "pure love" between two girls have been escalated in these years.
In before, it was just girls love and the setting is pretty much in high school.
Nowadays, the love is depicted in different settings and how they have evolved into more of a complex love .

Such a progression has made in depiction of girl's love ( ╹▽╹ )
