Those are some really contentious looks she gives that elf.

Well, I think it'd be weird if she all of a sudden were super into having a shooting star GF out of the blue.
I'm still not sure this will be any good, really, but it seems worth sticking with for now.

...MC seriously made a half-hearted wish for love while her sister has a major illness? Wow.

... I wasn't aware that having someone ill in your family makes it illegal for you to wish to find love. Especially considering she was wishing on a freaking star, it's not like she had any clue there would be magic involved. But noted, I will insult anyone who is in such a situation and doesn't spend every single moment in their life thinking about it. /s

That aside, Wen Qianxia's attitude is certainly abrupt, but I like it. It doesn't make it toxic, considering a girl magically appearing and claiming to be her girlfriend should absolutely be off-putting. And she's not so excessive in her reactions that I would find Xingye staying unnatural (between the two, Xingye is certainly the more overbearing one, though I understand her circumstances are special).

Is it the cute reactions I favor in romance stories ? Definitely not. But it's unusual and interesting, and provides a good framework for further development of their relationship, and the characters themselves adapting to this less than idealistic situation.

She was lowkey hoping she'd join her in bed, wasn't she?

She is now, at least.

This is definitely a flawed protagonist but every honest 15 year old protagonist is flawed, teenagers are fucked up monster people. This is just a more honest comic than normal :P

Also I wish people would stop blaming "China" for the censored kisses, it's the webcomic platforms with that rule. China doesn't have any anti-kiss laws lol. Half the time when you see an uncensored kiss on a Chinese comic here, it's because the scanlators got that version from the author's Weibo or something, which is still posted in China. Webcomic platforms are just weird as hell. The webtoon platforms based in Korea are frequently weird too if they aren't explicitly adult-focused. The author of Mage and Demon Queen constantly had issues with Webtoons dot com demanding censorship from her.

Yeah, I have seen censoring of wine bottles and middle fingers or the word "damn" and "crap".

So ask yourself why the Chinese platforms are censoring kisses?

The self censorship is by the manhua artist, not the hosting website. Bilibili is the "outside power" here, they're a major corporation enforcing homophobia, just like Facebook and Disney and a thousand other major corporations around the world, because they're run by the same kinds of people. Bilibili's frequently called "China's Youtube" and you can see similar patterns on that site, where queer discussions and depictions are discouraged and frequently outright censored by classifying them as adult content inappropriate for the general public. No outside force made Google set the youtube algorithm to treat "lesbian" as a pornographic term, they did that themselves because it's what they believe.

Google doesn't care about advertiser behavior or Republican politicians? Fascinating.

Intriguing worldbuilding, dunno why that's happening in an extra though. Also feels like potential setup for the series to take a depressing turn later...

But also, "They'll grow out" versus "I'll stay like this forever." What is the truth? Is our protagonist going to finally come around on her new star girlfriend only to be called a lolicon?

This is my favourite from the BilliBilli baihe TGD scanlates. Probably because it's more than just a vehicle for whatever dynamic/fetish the others cater to. Yes, the protagonist isn't immediately head over heels into the love interest, so what? It's called "character development".

Plus it has a certain ... realism to it? Not just the whole "figuring yourself out" part that's often (especially in chinese media) glossed over, but also the way Wen is pragmatic and inquisitive about the obviously supernatural. ("Can you do magic? Do you eat? Are you immortal?") No idea why so few media do that, it also doubles as excellent tool for exposition.

Actual plot + Neat designs + Not over-the-top = Just why are the chapters so short?!

Reading this comment really opened my eyes. Didn't think i had a bunch of random fetish/dynamic comics im scanlating...

It's just one person doing the art/story and etc. and the author has another manhua to focus on. I'm sure drawing manhua isn't gonna put the food on the table for them so they also have a full-time job and whatnot. (None of her work is paid so far)

And the fact that she said she should’ve wished for her sister to get better means she cares, bro’s being too harsh on a girl who’s never experienced any magic stuff

That aside, Wen Qianxia's attitude is certainly abrupt, but I like it.

I like how blunt and matter of fact she is. Having some bold MCs who isn’t afraid of being blunt is nice instead of always having the ultra nice MC

China is known for censorship and is anti LGBT— of course the lesbian kiss scenes are gonna be censored in the version of the comic that’s posted in China, that’s why China is being blamed. It’s Chinese censorship.

(Edit: I looked it up, and apparently it’s not just same sex kiss scenes, so it at least China isn’t biased? Either way, point still stands; it’s Chinese censorship)

Webtoon has never censored kiss scenes. I’m pretty sure the scene that was censored was considered sexual or smthn? I forget the reason, but none of the panels of the two main girls kissing was censored,

It’s different when censorship happens to a single panel in one comic, versus a handful of comics. It’s not just a platform issue. If China wasn’t against kiss scenes/“obscenity” in general, then there wouldn’t be any need for the sites to censor. Sex sells, people love consuming spicy content, which means the sites make more money. Companies aren’t going to lose out on potential money for no reason.

Wrong. China doesn't censor kisses; it's the publication company or the author/artist doing it themselves. Some are stricter like kuaikan (who has all lgbtq content banned from computer browser ver). Also, most of the time the artists posts uncensored versions of kiss scenes and whatnot onto their weibo/afdian or even paywalled behind bilibili. China doesn't even censor LGBTQ stuff, they have no laws against it or supporting it.
(Yes, these are all imos and from what I've seen/experienced so i could very well be wrong, too)

Webtoon is ultimately fine w/ kiss scenes just no on-screen sex scenes.

China isn't really "against" kiss scenes (as long as it's not super intimate), it just breaks social norms; also, they don't care for kiss scenes, not as much as outright porn. Porn itsself is illegal in china iirc.
It's not even a china issue or a platform issue 99.9% of the time. It's just the author/artist themselves self-censoring all the content.

Hmmm, I agree that people are a bit too harsh on the MC here....But compared to the other lame MCs I seen she is just average character honestly, kind of a flaw and bit selfish person but not the worst person or best main character I ever seen but yes she could have a better personality...Eh I say hopefully she will get some character growth later on probably~

Kind of mean to assume every 15 year old or younger teenager are fked up monsters tho (Minus natural born psychos/sociopaths)... 0_0....
Either my high school experience was just filled with normal to good people [There were a few obvious jerks and annoying people though] or you just well struck with bunch of rude people/jerks in school XD

I say it depends on the person background/family situation and upbringing with morals along with the friends they have while growing up that shapes how a person develops. I mean there are bunch of monsters that are already grown adults exploiting people sadly in life...Not just because they are a teenager...Though I do admit most teenagers do stupid sh*t lol

[Chapter 3.1]
This chapter...Hmmm I say this is a kind of 'canon but non-canon chapter' by the author in response to some of the comments that they received...probably comments joking or saying the star-GF looks young or like a kid. [4th wall breaking comment....No one else seen star-GF besides MC yet and MC's lil sister not awake yet and parents didn't come back home yet]

Star-GF muttering to herself about being almost immortal (Cannot die from old age but can die from serious injury like stab wound or car crash--MC didn't hear her/ no need to eat food as long as star light is provided but eating food would be nice.

MC need to make a wish to help her Star-GF make her chest size at least a few size bigger though the next few months that pass so the author can stop getting comments like that...RIP to flat or small chest women getting compared to a 7 year old by a random commentator XD
