Those are some really contentious looks she gives that elf.

Well, I think it'd be weird if she all of a sudden were super into having a shooting star GF out of the blue.
I'm still not sure this will be any good, really, but it seems worth sticking with for now.

...MC seriously made a half-hearted wish for love while her sister has a major illness? Wow.

... I wasn't aware that having someone ill in your family makes it illegal for you to wish to find love. Especially considering she was wishing on a freaking star, it's not like she had any clue there would be magic involved. But noted, I will insult anyone who is in such a situation and doesn't spend every single moment in their life thinking about it. /s

That aside, Wen Qianxia's attitude is certainly abrupt, but I like it. It doesn't make it toxic, considering a girl magically appearing and claiming to be her girlfriend should absolutely be off-putting. And she's not so excessive in her reactions that I would find Xingye staying unnatural (between the two, Xingye is certainly the more overbearing one, though I understand her circumstances are special).

Is it the cute reactions I favor in romance stories ? Definitely not. But it's unusual and interesting, and provides a good framework for further development of their relationship, and the characters themselves adapting to this less than idealistic situation.

OK, I wasn't expecting the balcony thing. That's a nice little touch.

She was lowkey hoping she'd join her in bed, wasn't she?

She is now, at least.

This is definitely a flawed protagonist but every honest 15 year old protagonist is flawed, teenagers are fucked up monster people. This is just a more honest comic than normal :P

Also I wish people would stop blaming "China" for the censored kisses, it's the webcomic platforms with that rule. China doesn't have any anti-kiss laws lol. Half the time when you see an uncensored kiss on a Chinese comic here, it's because the scanlators got that version from the author's Weibo or something, which is still posted in China. Webcomic platforms are just weird as hell. The webtoon platforms based in Korea are frequently weird too if they aren't explicitly adult-focused. The author of Mage and Demon Queen constantly had issues with Webtoons dot com demanding censorship from her.

Yeah, I have seen censoring of wine bottles and middle fingers or the word "damn" and "crap".

So ask yourself why the Chinese platforms are censoring kisses?

The self censorship is by the manhua artist, not the hosting website. Bilibili is the "outside power" here, they're a major corporation enforcing homophobia, just like Facebook and Disney and a thousand other major corporations around the world, because they're run by the same kinds of people. Bilibili's frequently called "China's Youtube" and you can see similar patterns on that site, where queer discussions and depictions are discouraged and frequently outright censored by classifying them as adult content inappropriate for the general public. No outside force made Google set the youtube algorithm to treat "lesbian" as a pornographic term, they did that themselves because it's what they believe.

Google doesn't care about advertiser behavior or Republican politicians? Fascinating.
