Up until now, their school looks pretty chill.

he's been piloting these two ULs (useless lesbians) since he came on to the scene. he's one for the frustrated yuri fans and the platonic girl love fans who are begging for these two to link the hell up already.

Freckles-chan is bringing in the heat for Aya to step the hell up to go with Mitsuki to the prom. and she's cooking some more with Mitsuki of meeting her Steve Albini twin dad.

Freckles is acting as the inciting incident that'll light a fire under Aya's ass and make her realize that if she doesn't get her shit together soon, someone might steal Mitsuki out from under her.

I know Christmas isn't as big of a thing in Japan, but inviting her over to, presumably, talk to her dad about music on that day still seems like a bit much. Even without the prom that was just announced, isn't it still something of an event where you'd expect people to be making plans with their families, friends, or loved ones?

Although, with that said, the prom seems to start at 6:00pm, and a lot of romantic activity tends to happen in the evening, or later. It seems unlikely her dad would want to talk business that late, so unless Aya had plans to spend the whole day with Koga, it realistically shouldn't cause that much of a scheduling conflict.

I was thinking the same thing like wow girl of all days.....but then it got me thinking that, maybe, whatever exciting opportunity her dad will offer, she's planning to make it like a christmas gift for her? she does seem to like Mitsuki in an awestruck way, i can see her taking the chance to make it extra sweet if it's that time of the year anyhow...

I always find it underwhelming when nearly all developments around characters come externally, instead of any internal growth any of them achieve on their own ...

I’ve been feeling kinda like that too with this last arc, but I think that comes from the 4 page once a week format? Makes it feel too slow but after a few re-readings you realize it flows better when you have more chapters to read all out at once. Both Aya and Mitsuki grew quite a bit thanks to each other, they became comfortable being in their own skin like, Aya not being self conscious about her love for western music and Mitsuki not being afraid to show her real self. To be fair Narita has had to butt in a few times, but the girls have also done some growth by themselves

Frankly, I'd drop the "almost." At this point, I feel comfortable saying Narita is the sole reason I may see the lovebirds make their relationship official before I die.

I really, really love the story but it feels like we get a bit too drama/misunderstanding heavy now. If it keeps going like that they will maybe hold hands when they finish school and we are left to imagine how their relationship develops...oh who am I kidding. She is going to move to America and we get a 5 year timeskip!

"Why did things even get awkward between us in the first place" Thats a question we wanna know too! I don't believe that the conflict they had earlier can be justified other than the fact they are both teenagers and are still adopting. It's going to be interesting to see what happens to their relationship from now on. :D

I'm also going to take a shot and predict that this is leading up to them realising that things got awkward because they capital-L Like each other.

Wait, didn’t we think Freckle-chan was going to invite Koga to the prom?

Although I try to stay out of the plot-prediction business*, I find it hard to believe that the story is going the “no prom at all” route after going to the trouble of setting it up. Maybe a “leave the producer’s party early and hit the prom together” twist.

*Because the pay is so low even when you get it completely right.
