wasnt expecting something so incredibly beautiful from virgins' empire of all things lol. this chapter is seriously top tier yuri, the pacing and expressions and quietness of it all was just. mmwah.
Ch 261 Greatness! Were Mio's tears that of joy or sadness? IMO it looked more like the latter.
Surely joy, she's overwhelmed that's all.

You must be referring to the really early chapters, this series has been having incredibly beautiful moments for quite awhile now.
So beautiful.
Kishi- san reaching peak artistry here.
Shizuka, watch out! Mio has them yandere eyes going again.
I like this series. However, every now and then, I remember it was written by a man and that spoils it, just a bit, for me. It reminds me that it's just a guy's fantasy about life at an all girls' school. It's kind of the equivalent of the Cinamax sexy softcore porn movies about women's prisons, I use to sneak downstairs late at night, to watch when I was 13.

Sad a man can't do yuri without being tag as fetishist. Seriously, there are yuri hentai artists who are women. And also it's way less ecchi that it use to be and the writing is pretty good. I don't understand why the author being a man should change the way you see it there.
Congrats to Mio and Shizuka to be the first ones¡

And what that's affect anything, it's like women can't make shonen or men can't make shojo, that's stupid, so far the author of Virgin's Empire had be really good with the storytelling and all characters feels real or relatable at some degree ofc theres some nsfw parts but it doesn't feel forced, the quality is not bad or is spoiled just because is a man the author...i've never seen this non-sense, heck not even fujoshis complain about authors being women and "that spoils it".
Same. I really can't stand the amount of hate Shizuka gets here, but how conveniently everyone seems to forget that it was Kaoru who was the original 'big bad' (as bad as you can get in a series like this, anyway) just because they like how she interacts with Mask. Like...sure, you might think it's cute, but that doesn't erase her past treatment (and manipulation- remember how she stopped eating when Shizuka tried to ((rightfully)) cut her out of her life? TEXTBOOK manipulator stuff right there) of Shizuka. And it's ALWAYS bothered me how Kaoru got a thing for mask and then started acting like Shizuka was being some needy, clingy, jealous ex despite having spent the entirety of the manga prior actively trying to woo/tempt Shizuka away from Mio.
Shizuka is no saint, but let's not forget (any more than we apparently already have) that it's Kaoru who started all the toxicity.
...
I'm really glad someone pointed all this out. Yeah, I'm no fan of Shizuka either but I find it surprising that more people gave Kaoru the pass so easily that there are people who are actually anticipating a Kaoru x Mask hookup. People are really down bad for beautiful eccentric characters that needs just the right person to "fix" them that it's like people forgot just how shitty Kaoru was to Shizuka, even just recently.
And Kaoru's toxicity can't just be attributed to "ah youth". It was literally YEARS of manipulation on her part. It's actually even more messed up that she found a new target to obsess over while suddenly losing interest in Shizuka when she finally developed interest again.
Did she even properly apologize to Shizuka for everything(she did some messed up things during and after their relationship)? Cause all I remember was Kaoru gaslighting her into thinking Shizuka was the only terrible one. I don't mind if Kaoru eventually finds someone, but girl needs some serious psychological help first.
For a series that goes into fan service '' male-gazey'' stuff pretty regularly, this was shockingly gentle and understated.
the series did start that way but it stopped being "male-gazey" long ago.
Also this might be the most beautiful and emotional chapter in a manga I've ever read.
The credit page makes me wonder though, will we ever get out of the time loop? Or like, are we stuck here until Ayano and Miyoshi become a couple? Ngl that might actually take an etenrnity lol.
Lots of series are stuck in a time loop. Yuru Yuri even called it out. New theory: yuri series will loop in time until a particular couple get together. Here it's Ayano and Miyoshi, there it's probably Himawari and Sakurako. Because love live! and k-on! didn't loop, I'll assume NicoMaki or NozoEri were the key there, and MioRitsu or YuiAzu for K-On!

I actually find it so refreshing that a man can be so good at depicting yuri. Kishi-sensei really is incredible.
Let's stop reducing men to their sexuality and let's stop haitng their sexuality in general. Word of a proud lesbian <3
Ok.....my heart is still beating....I...I didn't expect THIS, damn, that was...it wasn't just good, it was beautiful!
I mean, pity, that sensei doesn't do nudes anymore, but it gave this chapter so muuuuuuch more, more beauty, more feeling, more heartbeat....damn, this chapter made my heart beat faster than beiing last man standing in Insurgency: Sandstorm
Kishi knocked it out of the park here. I think it makes sense that the only sex scene (so far) is about this pairing. (Although calling it a sex scene might not be accurate, since we only see the very beginning and the aftermath - not that that's a problem.) The two reconciled to some extent in the previous chapters, but there was still some uncertainty left. It's not guaranteed that having done it will make their relationship resistant to Kaoru's influence, but maybe the two were able to communicate some things that they couldn't convey through words alone.
And well, good sex does have various benefits, so while it can't fix relationships by itself, it might put both of them in a better place mentally. I'm not an expert, but judging by the gentle way the undressed each other, and the peaceful aftermath, I think they probably had a good time.
I would be pretty surprised if the pair became sidelined after this (well, more sidelined than they have been so far). There's still a lot they have to talk about.

It is rather refreshing, that sensei could pull this off. There are so many beautiful yuri from women and also sooo many absolute kinky.
Also why should a man couldn't do,what a woman couldn't. Let us be progressive and emanzipated, no need to say "He's a guy, that leaves a bitter aftertaste".

This here too. It always bothered me how quickly people were willing to just forget about Kaoru being an outright abuser as soon as she found Mask (who, BTW, she is basically harassing at this point) while instantly piling hatred on Shizuka as soon as she misstepped. Which she did, of course, but Kaoru had spent years gaslighting her prior to this, it didn't come out of nowhere.
Holy moly dude. Never thought I'd see the day.
Now for the other couples...

Who said anything about fixing, we're rooting for entertainment and that pair gives that, in fact, the only people who want to "fix" Kaoru or seek retribution and/or change (and saying she has to be alone forever) are those who don't like her.

Years for us, for them maybe 1 or 2 years top.... actually who knows, they're trapped in infinity

Is what I'm talking about, you can't enjoy it unless they're perfectly proper good nature ladies and if they're bad, they have to be fixed like asap
lol I love the taking off glasses and everything is immediately blurry. That crack me up so bad I can't feel the softness anymore
Yooooooooooooooooooooo~~~
Wow, when I first started reading this I would have figured the first two to have actual sex would be Ayano and Miyoshi, accidentally going all the way like Jun and Nene from Maka-Maka did, but then again the manga has changed a lot since then, but heck even yesterday I would not have put money on those two being the first.
Was looking back and am pretty sure this scene and this one are tied together.
Seems like the cross over point of the two chapters.

I said nothing about women not being able to write hentai of any kind. Nor did critisize the writing. I'm saying that this ecchi work is entirely a product of a man's imagination. That is an indisputable fact. Simply fantasizing about girls' sex and love lives doesn't make a guy a fetishist but it's still just a fantasy.
Okokok!
The question everybody has, but no one had mentioned...
Who's bottom and who was top?

Isn't all fiction a fantasy?
"This is an imaginary story. But then, aren't they all?"

No successful work of fiction is ever "entirely a product" of anyone's imagination. The amount of experience, research, and understanding necessary to create a compelling work depicting the lives of characters is astronomical. It's very saddening to see that any part of the author's identity affects how someone perceives their work. We still have a long way to go, it seems.
