I was wondering if they were really vampires or just related to Koharu Minami. Jury's still out. But they definitely go to St Miator. I think the girls at Miator got jealous of Shiritsu Lillian Jogakuen and adopted the soeur system. But I'll stay open-minded about the vampire chuunibyou.

I think you are being uncharitable. Creative or not, this is not an add-on, this is backstory. Those two at the tea party have something to do with how second lead got so bitter.

You guys seem to be reading a totally different manga than I am...

I just hope the author will make something original out of the fact everyone here is a vampire.

And it looks like people didn't notice the meta about "Maria-sama" type manga, with Eve calling out that, because at the end of their school time they will all go their way eventually, it's nonsensical to make relationships and "tea parties".

ouch. This seems like the start of a series of horrible things that will lead to Yucca's ultimate demise, with Siki's ghost showing up to take Yucca to heaven.

Or maybe she'll just be sad, Idk.

So this is continuing along the lines of my original hunch, that things are getting more dangerous for the vampires. Seems like something is going on with the hunters, so far it seems like they're planning and preparing to wipe out more vampires, but I'm guessing there's going to be more to it.

I think it's just a story pacing thing. Even a cliffhanger for this chapter and putting her death in the next one would have helped to prevent the feeling of, "Here's a new character who is interesting because . . . oops, never mind--she's dead!"

OK, this is obviously a setting where the theme is all-important, so it feels churlish to talk about realism, but at this point I just can't look away from questions like, why are they just sending pairs of young teenage girls into the city to find their own, um, blood donors when vampire hunters are a thing? Even if they're supposed to learn how to do this stuff, shouldn't there be older, experienced, heavily armed vampires on overwatch?
