That's amateur fanfic-level writing, at best, and lazy delaying tactic, at worst.

Yeah I'm really starting to get that feeling here. The first few chapters of this were really good, setting up an interesting twist with the male isekai protag-kun getting merc'd and then the kind of heartbreaking dynamic between the two main heroines. It had all it needed to be a powerful, emotional story with just those few details--the innocent girl who perfectly trusts her savior, and the tortured girl with conflicted morals who has to look at her smile and know what she's doing. It's a really strong setup, and was a really interesting take on isekai genre stuff.

But as things have gone on... the pacing has gone completely out of whack, and like Koveras said it's being handled in a very amateurish way. It feels like the author is throwing in new details, powers, or characters for every fight and just putting in the stuff they came up with that they thought was cool, rather than slowly giving us more insight into the mysterious and intriguing power system they'd already set up, with the result that we don't know the stakes or power levels and it feels a little like the author is just telling us about these cool ideas they thought up rather than designing the story for readers. And I see the same thing happening here with plot details, too.

It really feels very undisciplined or insecure, like the author didn't believe in the power of the story they were telling and decided to add Plot and Things Happening. I'll keep reading, and I'd love to see myself proven wrong, but this is shaping up to not be the quality of story I had thought it to be.

I recant, there was precedent for the yandere twist scattered throughout. Disadvantages of reading one chapter a month. I'll withhold more judgement until we can see more of the story.

Yeah...I said in my previous comments I was wanting to just turn my brain off and enjoy the series for a fun action Isekai romp with Yuri, but at this point I honestly am struggling to do even that. So I find myself agreeing with you and other critiques people have made with this series at this point.

Everything right now feels so messy and I thought this Church fight might be at least fun...but this chapter was so awkward and having a time control character that can just basically instantly win everything (IF the author randomly wishes it), along with manipulating everything to her favor...including the super fucking petty action of stealing another girl's gift...at this point it's all extremely unpleasant to me. The series for me at least quickly declined from it's fun start unfortunately.

Oh ma god the yandere tag on the last chapter attracted me to read this and I regret nothing. Akari was so cool in this, I wish so much to see more of it!!

Okay, so it looks like MC-chan wasn't actually just playing everyone all along--she has a time-traveling, reality-hopping yandere version of herself that is going around and seemingly puppeting her body at key moments and making her forget, leaving behind only a sense of deja vu and her feelings of love for Menou-chan. Who also seems to be a total asshole to other people. Those ribbons were really important to Momo.

So she has a time ghost yandere doppleganger whose influence is making her fall in love with Menou-chan. I'm re-sold, I take it all back again. I love this now.

Haha well that was fast, you pretty much love it for all the reasons I don't, and it seems like other people are also loving it for similar reasons. More power to everyone who is enjoying it I say, for me the whole thing feels like a weird creepy power trip and I despise shitty characters that act like total assholes and nothing bad happens to them. They just win and that's it.

Easily one of my top 5 least favorite writing tropes, and I have a strong feeling that she'll never get a reality check or some karmic justice. It's just going to continue with her being increasingly shitty, while she fucks over characters trying their best like Momo, all because of petty asshole reasons. Which I guess some people love and I just don't get it, but hey as I said more power to people that are enjoying it.

And Momo deserves all of this, go for it.

What did she do? Momo is a sweet girl. It seems to me she's a better option than the OP yandere.

Yup I fully agree with this. Momo dotes on the only person that ever showed her kindness, and Momo would do anything for her including die for her. The fact that the author went "Hey I'm gonna have an OP psycho Yandere fuck her over just because" really pisses me off as I've previously said in other comments. Momo grew up with her and this Yandere is just some asshole that showed up in this world one day, the Yandere can take 500 hikes over the moon.

It basically says to me "you better not care about Momo or any other character in this series now, they're just this annoying Yandere's playthings".

Edit: Also Momo doesn't have to be the chosen love interest necessarily, but the fact that she gets screwed over for no good reason by an asshole Yandere just doesn't sit well with me. Having Momo end up happy is what she deserves, even if it's with someone else.

Tbh, I was so impressed by the reveal that Akari's superpowered evil side is actually her own consciousness from a messed-up future that I, too, had been about to void my earlier gripes with this manga. But then I let the emotional high subside a little and realized that while this one idea was kinda cool, the story as a whole is still a mess. The villain is still monologuing and bragging at the heroine for no smart reason; the other heroine can now pull an "I win" card out of her ass whenever the author needs a deus ex machina, with no limit or consequence that we know of so far; and the dragon fight is still a delaying tactic that doesn't even get cool action scenes anymore.

I think you yourself put it best earlier when you said, "the author is just telling us about these cool ideas they thought up rather than designing the story for readers". The yandere-me-from-the-future is just that -- a cool idea that has not yet been well-integrated into the narrative.

Welp, the series just went off the deep end. Can anyone in Japan write a plot where a pseudo-Catholic church does not turn out to be led by evil old folks? I dunno, just for the sheer shock factor.

That would shatter suspension of disbelief, even for wildcats like me

Understandable.

I'm extremely tired and probably not articulating my points well in this whole forum discussion unfortunately, but this is exactly what I mean. The author can just pull a "welp god level power" card out of their ass whenever at this point.

Yeah even me disliking the idea aside it just feels so incredibly haphazardly slapped into the series.

Anyways, sorry if I'm rambling and I sound out of my mind currently everyone. I'm going to get some much needed sleep now, I was hoping for something fun before bed...but this chapter was honestly the breaking point for my sanity tonight haha

Messy as it is, "Time Travelling, OP, Yandere, Ghost" is a new one on me. I want to, at least, see where they're going with this.

Hmmm kinda don't like how op her time power ended up being. It feels kinda cheap. But it is being used in an interesting way I havent seen before. I hope they can explain how it works a lil more. Like is it a time loop or something else? Messing with time is rarely ever done well because it always opens more loop holes and makes things confusing so...i dunno guess we'll see.

I also don't tend to root for yanderes either and so I was kinda put off seeing future Akari is pretty fucked up, but they can make for a fun and wild story so I'll just sit and enjoy the ride without thinking too hard about it.

Well this one has gone down the shitter. Sad to see it. The idea of a time hoping isekai yandere following the girl who is duty bound to kill her for the sake of world peace was a very good premise. The execution of said premise is about as good as the Monster Hunter movie.

Well, that's interesting... There's more to Akari than one would have thought, but on the other hand, not even she herself is truly aware of it.

Right? How dare we discuss a series on the forum for it! The audacity!

they better fucking not, I wanna see some strong Momo x Princess side couple shenanigans and I'm really tired of the way that edgy "against the grain" isekai with female protagonists and yuri pandering just kill off all the side characters just for the tragedy-porn aspect of it.

Considering the facts that she's still here messing around with time, it means she already failed in saving Menou and probably many times at that. So it's understandable that her future self turns into such a twisted person.

So, everyone here is discussing Akari's Yandere Split-Personality, but did you notice that curious sentence that came out of her mouth? "Unlike that time in the train, I don't need to go back in time here".

Yeah, this girl is basically what Natsuki Subaru would be if he actually was OP. Except we are following Emilia's point-of-view.

If I could high-five you I would. There's so many Tragedy-Porn Isekai out there and I was really hoping this wouldn't be one of those.

She could just be a twisted person from the start. I'm also not a fan of when people try to justify a character's shitty behavior because of the hardships they've endured. You can endure hell and still not be a complete dumpster fire of a person, and right now she comes across as very petty and pathetic to me.

I think this series could still improve moving forward, but I'm unfortunately having some serious doubts about the Yandere getting solid character progression. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Yeah it's a bit long the lines of RE:Zero but in my opinion this is not handled nearly as well. Also Subaru at one point in the first season is a pathetic asshole, but he also progresses past that. He manages to mature as a character as the series progresses, though I don't want to go into spoilers so I'll leave it there. I'd love for the Yandere in this to progress as a character, but as I've said already I have some serious doubts about that happening. Her character feels like an edgy power trip that reminds me of so many other Isekai where the Isekai'd character is awful for the sake of being awful.
