You know, after the last few chapters of all of that built up drama coming crashing down, it's really really nice to finally get to the resolution. Like hot damn I love this series but the last few chapters have been a little much for my heart. I'm simultaneously happy and sad that it's going to be coming to a close.

I mean the crying reactions from OP are quite realistic in a sense, i mean i dont know anyone that looks beautiful while literally crying over the loss of something important to them

I'm glad Nanaki, and Kanade made up. However I can't tell if Kanade is accepting Nanaki's feeling, or is she just saying, it was wrong of her to throw away their friendship, just because Nanaki fell in love with her.

I know right. Like it almost seems as though it’s implied but kanade has not seemed to return her her feelings just not be pissed about them.

Just went back to chapter 7 randomly and seeing nanaki go “I knew it I’m better than her in every way” after seeing the newest chapter I’m like damn nanaki look at you- so fucking gay for her now

Oh no, I was hoping for a kiss because it's annoying to wait another month again. I just want to read all chapters in one.

Regardless, I was torn between feeling cringed by how fast they solved Kurokawa's years of inferiority complex issues and that Fujishiro was able to do that just by calling her beautifu and how Kurokawa made a 180 degree turn from the past chapters. But at the same time I liked their interaction/chemistry and it was an emotional scene too.

I really hope this isn't the one and only kiss we get see of them before the manga is over.
I also kinda want an intense scene between them too, not just showing the results and then them interacting with their friends (or a time skip)

Who knew that the cure for a lifetime of insecurity and feeling inferior to others is just to be called beautiful? As much as I think they resolved all their issues a little too quickly, I'm just so over the drama and just happy that they managed to have a proper conversation.

Geez, how did them parents react to all that yelling?

Not sure, but I know how I'm reacting to it. If this were a LN, I'd be asking the author if they forgot to turn caps lock off. It's gotten a bit much.

Yeah this kind of stuff is my jam but somehow I'm just... not really feeling it. This chapter, and the arc in general, didn't really dig into my heart so that I could follow along with everything that happened, you know? It felt like I just sort of... watched it, I guess.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that Nanaki only called Kurokawa beautiful and cute after she gave Kurokawa a makeover

This was actually brought up, and it was a conversation about how we've moved past this because Kurokawa is being told she's beautiful in this scene without the makeup and makeover look. Kurokawa is just herself here and she's for the first time being told that she's beautiful for how she is. Which I think is what's nice about this chapter.

see, this is why this should have been a plot point throughout the series, not rushed through in a few chapters at the end with seriously overly dramatic drama... it's just not a satisfying arc as a result

also the crying faces, constant shouting and just crazy drama faces really just comes off as too much and forced :/

It's interesting to me that there seems to be such a split divide on here. People that feel nothing from this chapter and aren't satisfied, along with thinking the faces and crying are too over the top. Then we get people like me who are very happy with this chapter and satisfied, I don't mind exaggerated faces in art because it's a unique way of expressing emotion for the medium. Sometimes they can be a bit much in media, but they didn't feel like too much here for me.

Unfortunate that some people dislike this so much, but alas it is what it is and you can't please everyone.

I know healing oneself of lingering inferiority complex isn't as easy as what has been portrayed in Chapter 36--psychological damage isn't gonna go away in one cathartic crying. BUT, this is a damn good start! And, really, Fujishiro's awesome here. She's grown and she's now this knight-in-shining armor, the PRINCE, affirming Kurokawa's bearing as a princess.

As far as I'm concerned this has been a powerful chapter.
