I did like finding out her background though- we had all wondered.

It was as expected except for the bit where she actually knows she is a lesbian! and it played some part in her break up.

Wow, it’s actually really refreshing that Nakajima isn’t the first woman that Mihoko had semi-romantic feelings for. So often it’s the pursuer has experience and the person being pursued is completely oblivious to the advances of the other, and I think it’s good for both of them if she already has her attraction to women figured out, more or less.

It’s also interesting that there’s a real possibility of her being a lesbian, it’s pretty common in real life for women to only realize their sexuality later in life, even after having children and marrying a man, but those kinds of people don’t usually get represented in media.

I'm glad that the mom is essentially an out queer woman. Even though her son doesn't know. He's pretty good natured though, I think he'd be really supportive

I didn't expect the comedy yuri manga about a girl crushing on her friends mom to actually talk about a common experience late bloomer lesbians have it's really refreshing to see.

I don't want to use the word refreshing again, but it's the most accurate word to describe this backstory. Alll while ending everything in good terms, she found herself.

Wait, a story with an amicable divorce that is not treated as a huge tragedy or anything? Am I dreaming, this is wonderful.
