^No, I mean they didnt have a clue about how sakura came across like she should be a lesbian to a lot of people- not that they couldnt write. Or maybe just because of when it was written, even tho there was subtext, maybe they couldnt run with it.

And sure not every girl girl relationship in manga needs to be yuri- but because tomoyo was in love with her, and because of sakuras general nature, it was easy to see them in that light. i mean there is a reason they were one of the first major yuri ships.
