... they're using the term 'lemon' in two different ways.

One day we will see this happen in canon...
Would love to see more lovey-dovey time of these two in official manga too.

I can't see Shamiko calling her an asshole straight out like that... otherwise seems like something that could totally happen in the manga.

This is without a doubt the best MachiMazo douijn on the market right now. The art is gorgeous, the attention to detail impeccable and it's all very much in character for everyone.

I especially love the way this author addresses Shamiko's subconscious possessiveness and feelings. She doesnt allow herself to realize that she loves Momo, but she still gets upset by the idea that Momo doesn't love her. The "I am sure there is one" is a cry from her heart that Momo loves her.

If Momo ever tries to confess (again), she better do it in some private place, because this goddamn appartment complex is too crowded. lol

Shamiko literally called Momo "kisama" dozens of times in the manga. These translators turned it into asshole, which is in the general ballpark at least.

^^ Kisama just means 'you' right? but in a disrespectful way- so I dont think 'asshole' is a good translation - I think i'd go with 'damn you' - since it also keeps the 'you' meaning.

But I loved this :) Give us more :) But I'd rather it didnt stay true to the comedy interruption like the manga would and we just got a proper kiss and confession! Can't Momo and Shamiko catcha a break even in fandom?

Actually no. Japanese don't have swears per se, but it does have words that when used would count as swears by Japanese standards, because of how negative/vulgar they are. Kisama is the most negative "you" you can use and in fact is so negative and over the top, it's only used in mangas, especially by villains. You'll never hear it irl. So I can totally see kisama being translated to "asshole" and similar. Since there is no set rule how to translate certain words/phrases every translator/scanlation goes with their own rules/feel, so I assume the only reason other translation didn't use something similar, was because they either didn't want to curse and/or they didn't know how translate it/just kept it to simple "you".

The most common translation used for kisama I've seen is "bastard". It's that level of disrespect, but also not really a word anybody takes seriously anymore. It's just an over the top way to talk down to someone, which fits right in with Shamiko's Saturday morning villain approach to things (Don't think this means you've won!).
