Its more the shape of his face, mouth, nose and eyes and slight shading.

I think its the big shaded nose that have this effect, give me the impression of a greedy conman or mean drunk....honesty it does remind you of those anti Jewish stereotypes sorta.

I had that impression when he first showed up... And it was because of the eyes, I didn't feel that way by the end of the chapter and I HOPE HE IS NOT ... I mean, the owner of an orphanage is a bad guy? that's not a topic I would like to see... again.

Old man Isaak looks like the aged version of the child villain
Also his nose reminds me of Redestro from My Hero Academia

It's just the first time we see him :

In Japanese manga, the smaller the eyes, the more vicious the character is. And he's smiling. And his nose is the nose of a drunkard. So I raised my guard up right away.

He looks like the type of character that could say the most horrible things while still smiling kindly.

By the end of the chapter, he looked like a normal kind old man though... but one never knows. If manga taught me something, it's that things are never what they appear on the surface.

I think that girl they saw in the Arctic might be a sister of her or related to her.

Interesting that they used USSR style school uniforms in the orphanage. 00s Russian schools quite often didn't use any mandatory uniforms, students would just get gentle guidelines like "do not wear stuff that's too extravagant or expensive". Except for official ceremonies, then it was usually strict black&white dress code.

If there's one thing I've learned from all the animu I've watched it's that bad guys never have eyebrows. He has eyebrows, therefore he is not a bad guy. Flawless logic.

She already has the right idea with the camera.
