I really wish this had ended better than it did. It's squandered potential. Not awful, but she should've stuck the landing.

I'm sure that face Yuzumori pulls off is present somewhere...

Given that this was originally set for two volumes, having a pretty much fluffy ending is good :>

I would not call this a bad or trollig ending. Mimika has to wait, and if that waiting means they never become lovers, that's how it goes. At least, unlike the kouhai in Stretch, neither Mimika nor Yuzumori are unsure of the other one's feelings. It's simply the age difference and Yuzumori-san being underage, and they both know it. They managed to become friends, and that's not bad. Stretch started with the two being friends and both of them knowing the younger one was in love with the older one, and nothing ever developed until the older one moved away, putting the younger one out of her misery without ever accepting or rejecting her love. And really playing with her feelings along the way.

I was satisfied with the ending. A kiss isn't everything even though we were craving for it.

hot damn

God I missed these two... I am forever disappointed with this manga. It should of been cute moments like these instead of the dumb elementary school drama we got. I just want little moments of Yuzumori-san teasing Mimika the whole time and Mimika trying to hold back :3c

I miss this manga. It was perfect to me. It deserves an anime but isn't lewd or controversial enough to get one.

^ Bloom into you wasn't even controversial or it is lewd. It got an anime definitely because of the good story. Sora yori and Yurucamp also sold a lot because they're just great, doesn't mean only weird as fuck shit sells, is it? Don't be like those people that thought only ecchi sells and things with good story would go bankrupt. That's not usually the case at all.

See ya again, Eri-sensei.
And as much as I love loli, I found grown-up Yuzu is hella hotter than her younger age....

YOOOOOOOO DISASTER LESBIAN AND ULTIMATE DOMINATRIX ARE BACK AT IT

See? You CAN have a character attracted to a minor and still don't lewd the loli. Mimika should be an icon

Also, Mimika actually firing back? I've been blessed

Are people still complaining about the ending? Come on people, it's obvious they love each other but she just wants to let Yuzumori have a normal childhood and they can focus on their relationship later.

Ending itself is not bad. Actually in my point of view, it pretty good.
Also I gave a big like to the comment above me

The ending is good, Mimika did the right thing to wait for Yuzumori right before they do some advance lover stuff. hope the author atleast make extra of middle school or HS Yuzumori and adult Mimika.

Yeah, yuri manga don't really get anime unless A) they're aimed at straight men, or B) they portray a clearly deviant or unhealthy relationship to implicitly support the cultural belief that sapphic romance is deviant and unhealthy.

Mimika is far too dedicated to making sure her interactions with Yuzumori never cross the line into ones that would be inappropriate for a child of her age to be sufficiently melodramatic.

Not sure "Bloom Into You" fits your framework.

And yet, it's getting an anime.

There are always outliers to any trend. But for every Bloom into You or Sasameki Koto there's 3-4 Happy Sugar Lifes or Sakura Tricks.

Also, I forgot the 3rd genre of yuri that gets animes: where it's completely played for laughs.

Well, you could say the same thing about yaoi manga.

Like yuri, It's really niche and doomed to a late night slot on TV. Few anime companies are willing to take the risk.

I don't think it's fair, because het romance gets a lot more screentime, but knowing the state of society in Japan and of the anime industry in general, it's hardly surprising.

Oh it's absolutely true of yaoi too. Straight people aren't really interested in seeing healthy, happy queer relationships they want that gayngst because that's what society tells them the authentic queer experience is.

People still keep complaining about the ending for whatever reason.... Can you just stop?

People need to complain about pretty much any series because it’s important to prove that they’re so much smarter and have so much better taste than the people who like it OK the way it is. In fact, they get money for complaining about it—I mean, they must, right? Because I don’t understand the depth of their commitment otherwise.

People are allowed to not like things. I mean, I had no problem with the ending but if others did that's their prerogative as a consumer of media.
