What do you think it is

Probably because NTR requires existing relationship. While I can understand why stuff like one sided/two sided non spoken love can feel like they are basically together/meant to be, because of the whole not much yuri and mostly subtext stuff we have to live off, but in practice, you can't steal someone from someone when they are not actually together.

Doesn't have to be in a relationship, same feeling exist when it's just losing a love interest
That's why most ppl feel awful after reading this, because it feeds off those feelings. If the best friend wasn't in the picture, it'd just be kinda fucked up, but because she is, it's an even more bitter feeling, tho idr if she gets off on it too or something

I agree it is similar feeling and can be confusing because of that, but entire point of NTR is when it is stealing someone in a relationship. That is at least the definition I'm familiar with (and NTR's definition is already pretty vague), but at least 1 part I think is consistent is that they have to be a couple.

Stealing someone's lover is the most common NTR because it hits the most. But this story is NTR, too. Kuzushiro even said that in the afterwords. It's like those mother/son (not incest) NTR where a mother is sexually corrupted by some bastard and leaves her son in the end.

From what I understand, NTR doesn't have to have a preexisting relationship to happen. Its about one party being oblivious/good/kind in nature or even normal and having their love interest robbed/broken and the ensuing climax when they find out. Well, it varies whether they find out or not (usually do though) and how established the relationship was prior. There's also the "opposite" called netori/netoru? where the main party steals the person from another...which could be good or bad. You probably won't find either of these themes in an extremity compared to hentai.

Which is why this was an...interesting read. I loved Kuzushiro's work since Kimi no Tame vol 1 but like almost all the other favorite mangakas, not all are in my zone. I quit reading Your Fault when it was first posted because of its theme but going back onto it now, its interesting in its own way. Not often do you see a purely yuri NTR that tries to tell both sides. There are plenty of ones with dicks. Unfortunately, its always one strong and one weak side to the story due to the nature of NTR. No matter what the reason or purpose at the start may have been, the result is always bad. There are some stories where the mc pushes through somehow but its hard to get over what happened. Then the tag for "cheating" gets mixed in and ugh.

But who was the sempai talking to at the end?

All I know is...

Yuri needs more NTR stories like this, I seriously want to read a bigger variety of stories in yuri besides the cliché happy endings

Masturbating furiously to the sight of your gf doing it with another guy.

NTR is always a hard reality check that makes me want to isolate myself further and further every time. Maybe the right move is to become an asshole like those who steals everything, maybe the right move is to don't care at all, yay!

To the one saying "stop projecting wtf", well if a story resonates with you, you identify or feel empathy towards one character, so if you identify to the betrayed one, of course you would feel bad.

I can't help but love this story. Senpai might be one of my favorite Femme Fatales ever.

What does it say about Ayaka, makes her more of a villain now. She's screwing over Kanako, who didn't cheat as much as some say she did. We can paint the Senpai as a dangerous woman, but Ayaka it seems would happily screw Kanako over. I wonder if the Senpai is having it off with both just for the giggles or is it a masterplan to ruin the friendship.

Definitely puts a different spin on Ayaka and Kanako's friendship. But I always thought it was doomed even before the last twist, as Kanako couldn't be her real self around Ayaka and I'm sure Ayaka never looked upon Kanako the same after seen her with Senpai. That's the sadness part of the whole one shot for me.

I just randomly came across this story again and man it still gives me a good chuckle reading it, it's hilarious.

Also I'm surprised people are disappointed at the extra page showing the senpai to be a villian, when she was already giving off cartoonishly evil vibes from her very first appearance, it was clear as day that her intentions were not good.

Like someone said in the previous page if this story were longer you would probably have the two besties realise that they're being played and taken advanatge of and it would bring them closer together, but for now, at the stage the story is at, the villain wins.

The senpai is quite simply a madwoman of anthipatic and manipulative sex, the second blonde is so naive, instead of hiding it and knowing the cheating that senpai does to her best friend, choosing to stay with her is a huge mistake ...

I think the last page is being commonly misunderstood, I don't think that blond Senpai is with is the protagonist of the first half but some a random girl, it establishes that she's into sleeping with other girls.

This is kinda sad, in the last panel the Mc slept with senpai too. They are both using senpai as satisfaction for each other. I can't take this. I'm so fucking sad right now

Ethical considerations aside, Kuzushiro did a pretty good job with making this story feel equal parts seductive and decadent. A lot of stories revolving around infidelity have characters making stupid decisions, or being cartoonishly naïve or evil. Here, it feels like every character behaved in realistic ways, even if they weren't pleased with the overall situation. The tug-of-war between ideals and desires is wonderfully covered, and there's a certain amoral bitterness to the tale that keeps it from sliding too far into either smutty or depressing territory. Kuzushiro masterfully uses differing perspectives to make readers question their ideas of what an enjoyable relationship ought to be, and simply lets her characters breathe and be nuanced without preaching about what's right or wrong. It's down-to-earth enough to be almost uncomfortably realistic, but also dramatic enough to keep you turning the pages. It just goes to show how good writers can take messy topics about toxic behavior and still weave them into intriguing, darkly-enthralling narratives.

I don't understand why the mangaka is saying she wanted to write a work like NTR. This story is nothing like NTR. This is just a predator going after prey and the prey's friend finds out and does nothing. In NTR, there are emotional reasons for why one goes after the other sexually, but it isn't as a predator. And in the ending of NTR, both girls finally realize their real feelings for each other and start going out. This is just an inexperienced girl caught up in a predators lies and is just her plaything until she is done using her. The playthings friend finds out she is keeping the relationship secret from her and just does not confront her or say anything to her, she goes home and masterbates. It is just a story of 3 f'd up girls, that's all. You see this story written a thousand times over, nothing new or interesting here. The characters are wooden and the plot cliché. Please don't even think of comparing it to NTR, they are not even in the same universe.

NTR stands for Netorare, a subvariant of cuckold fetish, in which the love interest of the pov character gets taken from them, usually resulting in emotional damage to the pov character.

The manga by Kodama Naoko, which has NTR in the title, is not a NTR work. I understand that you were confused, but that's not it.
