Seems a bit rushed going from serious to comedy and back. And back again.
This bugged me. So far, the series has been awfully cavalier about the use of sexual assault against women as a plot device.
The juxtaposition between that grave subject matter and whimsical attempts at comedy is less than comfortable.
Throw in a jarring shift to surrealism at the end (suddenly we're in a magical girl/superhero story???) and I have a hard time figuring out how I'm supposed to feel about it all.
That last one is especially strange when I remember this is written by Jin. I don't recall her ever doing a story this... fantastical.
