I might be misremembering, but I think that More than Friends? briefly tackled all this societal bullshit during the arc in which Acchan gave Kasumi the cold shoulder for a bit 'cause she was worried about what society would think. I love random connections between an author's work as much as anyone else, but it just strikes me as a bit weird that Acchan's worried about that in a world where reporters express their love for lesbian relationships on live television, apparently conservative families (based on the fact the family in Yuri Family wears... whatever those things are. Yukata? Kimono? I dunno) are perfectly fine with lesbian incest among their ranks, and no one in general really gives a shit other than the obligatory "B-but we're girls?!?" I don't know, I might just be thinking too deeply about this; perhaps, things are significantly better for queer peeps in Mochi's Japan but there's still a fair bit of discrimination? ... WHY AM I OVERTHINKING THIS SO MUCH?
Edit: Of course, I'm going on the assumption here that all of Mochi's things are set in the same universe, which may or may not be true. Kana's appearance in Video Rental Shop, Pranking the Prankster, and (I think it was just a name drop but close enough) Twin Sisters indicates that those at least are confirmed to be related. I think we can assume that GL of the Dead and White Knight and Black Knight are not set in the Mochiverse, but I'm sure you can just come up with some BS like "there was magic in the past, now it's dead and the world's normal" and "there's a zombie apocalypse in the future" to slot them into the timeline... I sure hope GL of the Dead isn't in the Mochiverse though since pretty much everyone we know and love would probably get killed.
