I'm pretty sure you're looking into that way too much. That's just Kase being Kase. She's always been touted as a fairly tomboyish and somewhat dense girl so being a bit rough like that is to be expected.

I'm just saying in general. Usually it will end at highschool or it will timeskip over college. I also hate when they do the whole couple separation due to college thing. I can think of only a few where it shows college life.
