Watching the Part 4 anime has made me think about this before, but is it really normal for kids in Japan to carry boxcutters around with them in their backpacks? It's like the Japanese equivalent of everyone in America having a gun.

That was okay in my book.

Would have been better with about 3-4 more pages. One or two more of sex so they can get in a bit of fooling around before going straight to the scissors, one or two more of general stuff to alleviate the crammed feeling.
The box-cutters, I can see where she's coming from--specifically, she's coming from being a nitwit with low self-esteem. Nothing unrealistic about that.

On the topic of the box-cutter thing. It was a very bad and stupid thing to do, but it's not that unrealistic if you keep in mind that the characters know each other better than the viewer knows the characters. I can see a very distressed kid doing something like that in real life, and their friend correctly believing they're not actually in danger. She wasn't coercing the other girl for sex, she was trying to do something extreme to get emotional closure.
