As an American I feel like it's generally not a good idea to move to America right now, yes we have gay marriage but things are so very fucked up right now unfortunately. So if this series does end on a Hollywood happy marriage ending and how great America is...it's definitely going to be a weird feeling for me, especially if it's something that encourages other same sex couples to move here. Maybe in the future things will be better, there's always hope, but I'd say explore your options.

I'm a bit afraid of the resolution of this arc thought. Because I could see Mitsuki picking up the guitar, start playing and then... Well that's it. Trauma resolved, no discussion. Next arc. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't know why, I have this feeling.

Well, quoting myself there. I didn't think she would propose, but it feel like that unfortunately, I was right, there won't be any discussion. Guitar picked up. Problem resolved. As if marriage was a solution to a lack of communication...

I'm really hoping there's more communication in upcoming chapters, this can't be it lol

That was also my reaction. I was somewhat afraid that they'd give this arc-- the argument they had as a result of their communication problems, not to mention Mitsuki and Aya having sex while the latter was drunk-- a rushed resolution, but wasn't expecting a proposal. There is a chance that it could be rejected, given Aya's shock, but while I'm reserving my judgment until I see Aya's response, I doubt that they're going to have an appropriately in-depth discussion about the state of their relationship.

My expression when i read page 4 is exactly like everyone's drawn reaction. Mouth wide open.

Mitsuki said what she said because of what she saw. Completely illogical but absolutely straight to the core and by pass everything.

i'm sorry, but i swear i can't stand mitsuki. they just found aya's brother, and out of nowhere the solution is... she starts singing and propose to aya? i know it sounds like a stupid complaint, but ever since they became adults, the manga has been inconsistent, leaving plots or themes behind out of nowhere. this is the last straw.

i understand that this is important for mitsuki's depression and all that... but i seriously don't understand. i don't understand why one thing after another keeps happening.

i feel like i have nothing left to expect from this series; the main problem (and the title of the series) was resolved many chapters ago. perhaps i only keep reading it because i admire the artist and her style, but the story no longer makes much sense to me...

It makes perfect sense to me. (Feels incredibly relatable, in fact) Mitsuki is a pretty typical artist, being jerked around by feelings that feel bigger than she is. She started feeling like a fraud, because she was playing music that she didn't "feel" in order to fit into her band, because she was afraid to try and make it on her own. She already felt like a fraud. When Aya saw her playing, and she saw Aya's expression (of concern, but to Mitsuki it must've felt like disappointment,) it made her feel like it was confirmed, the jig was up, and it was just a matter of time before Aya dumped her for somebody "real". When somebody is depressed, actually depressed, they have the least charity for themselves. Depression lies, and that's where Mitsuki's been living, under the lies her depression was badgering her with. Aya adores her, though, honestly, and has been trying to wait for her to open up, move on, anything really, but she didn't want to push.

Mitsuki let her insecurities come out to Aki, though, and it hit Aki at a really bad time, so when Aki's friend snubbed him, he started spiraling too. When the kid went missing, maybe because of what Mitsuki said to him, well, a moment like that has a way of snapping a lot of things into focus. Mitsuki is actually really good in a crisis, and so that got her confidence back, so she played, because when that fight or flight response actually kicked in, she's in it to win it. When she played, from the heart, and saw how much Aya loved the way she actually played, she got overwhelmed with feels in the moment and proposed on impulse.

Because honestly, who could look at somebody who is looking at you like that and not want to spend the rest of your life making them look like that?

She's not trying to fix anything by proposing. She proposed because she saw this face:

Hell, their relationship isn't even on the rocks. Mitsuki was having an emotional crisis.
