I'm constantly wishing we'd get more yuri with adult women, but I think it's backfiring for this one.
This dynamic could work alright when it's a teen or early college age character still struggling with social boundaries or a sense of self, but Ema's a grown ass woman. I'm trans so I can relate to identity and presentation struggles even in adulthood, but having it be rooted solely in a single unrequited crush she's let herself wallow in for years is too self-inflicted. She just comes across as self-pitying and mopey rather than sympathetic. Doubly so now it's clear from the band chapter that she's already popular af with other women and could have easily moved on.
Also her unspoken feelings turn creepy real fast with how quick she is to cross what would typically be a boundary in a non-platonic context. Moving in with ulterior motives was already dodgy as hell (esp since it was her idea), accepting sharing a bed is nuts.
