With how much I loved the first volume I really think Sal Jiang got told either at the start of volume 2 or early into it that this would be last the volume so she had to wrap it up. Maybe that's wrong but it's what would make the most sense to me anyhow.

@Nya-chan What's MMM?

I have no expectations for even a slightly satisfying conclusion. The disappointment I have in how this manga turned out after such a strong first volume is immense.

MMM are Margaret, Marina and Moon, the 3 influencers living in Salem. Figures you forgot about their collective name.

Oh right... That was a thing. Almost forgot they were supposedly influencers to begin with lol.

this had a crazy strong start like wow and then the whole magic factions and battles and the bazillion characters kinda made it lose track. we barely got any romance between the two leads like it's barely yuri even tho the characters are sapphic and stuff, i mean at least hanako went on a date with a butch that she didnt even realize was a woman for some reason.... i feel like sal really did get told it's getting axed early so she had to speed up the vision she had for her story to give it a good enough conclusion and this is what we get. the short chapters are also sad cause omg the art is fantastic, don't even let me start with the character desings!

As much as the prevalence of naysayers makes me want to go to bat for this manga... I'm not sure I even understand what's going on anymore, this story is so rushed. I agree, I don't think Sal Jiang would put out a story like this without an axe looming overhead. >_<

As somebody who has been critical of this series for much longer than most posters, I just wonder how long the looming axe has been known to Sal Jiang. Because as it stands every chapter in Vol. 2 has had it's flaws which, on their own, would have been easily compensated in another one. But untreated, they ended up snowballing into this drop in quality.

There's plenty of a speculation to be had of how much she had to divert her attention (and, if you're mean, how much her heart was in this) with simultanous releases in Yuri-Hime (and an anthology?) but since I'm not really staying updated on her work besides what hits this site, it'd be unbecoming to speculate about her circumstances.

She didn’t has any manga running in yuri-hime, the only work she has in that magazine is a one-shot. I don’t think she has other manga running at the moment either. This magazine is new, and you can feel they bet on this one but didn’t work out with the public, I don’t think there is anything beyond that,

Sounds like a lot of RL parents TBH.

Page 16 final panel should be "Back when this girl was wreaking havoc." The word "was" is duplicated and "wrecking havoc" is not a phrase.

yeah same about wanting to support it. i really loved volume one, even bought the physical release, but at this point there are about 12 characters, half of whom i don’t even know, teleporting round the world yelling names at each other

tae-wol still rules tho

honestly a real shame, the story was taking its time setting up a long term plot but the curse of yuri meant that it kind of couldn't have. So it ends before it really gets to take off which sucks because I don't really like the ultra rushed set-ups serialized manga have to go for in order to not risk being cancelled before they get to do anything with their premise like what happened here.

I really don't agree with most of the criticism but Wicked Spot would have needed 50 chapters at least to tell its story and it just was never getting that was it. Which is a real shame.

I really wish Sal Jiang got to make this series for however long she wanted to, and really build up the world and characters. It's unfortunate and I hope things go better for her next time, and I'm looking forward to seeing what she makes next!

I did really enjoy volume 1 for this series, and I continue to love Sal's art and character designs, plus lesbian witches are always a positive.

The ending felt abrupt but I mean, that's just a side effect of getting the axe. Ya hate to see it.

Least they got a happy ending though. O'Reilly all we could hope for huh.

There's axed series that still end on an unsatisfactory but coherent ending. This isn't that, this is all limbs hacked off bloodily trying to crawl to the finish line. I was very excited for this series when it began but there's way too many characters and open plots to resolve this quickly, this really needed a lot more room to expand.

Krusty the Clown gif what the hell was THAT?

I love Sal's work overall but I had no idea what was going on in the second half of this and that ending did nothing to help me there. Good luck in future works I guess, not shocked this was axed unfortunately

Man Sal Jiang, and us, really got robbed on this one. There was so much potential. You could tell Jiang had a lot they wanted to tell with this story but the embers got snuffed before the fire could really get going. Shame.
