I'm surprised there aren't more comments discussing this since it's off to such a promising start.

I feel like this is the unfortunate case of not being easy to find since it doesn't show up on Dynasty's main page and was kinda lost in the sea of updates on the "recently added" page. Took myself a while to comb through the flood of updates to stumble across this.

They should advertise more that you can subscribe to Dynasty's RSS feed. That way you never miss a release.

Wait, you can!? Holy moly, where? I can't find it for the life of me...
(And can you still filter it with blacklisted tags and stuff?)

Oh yeah, there's no 268, 281, 285, 302 or 303...

The sea: Both a herald of change and Koma's feelings toward Yura which she won't admit, as they would break the normal. Not just her normal, but also the normal. This feels most evident in the scene with the girls from Yura' school, where Koma comes closest to actually doing something on Yura's behalf and "dirtying her hands", as the sea rises, and she wonders why she would even consider it when she doesn't want things to change.

Ooohh, I think I like that interpretation of the sea a whole lot more than my initial takeaway from the previous upload. I'd really completely missed a key part of Koma's character and her attitude towards the relationship the two share - preferring things remain exactly the way she's used to even, if it means Yura is suffering with no one to lean on but her; waving off her concerns both to her face and while dwelling on them later...

So is it that she abandons her in the end or am I misreading

The end leans into visual metaphor, I think (what normal train would still be going like this, under these conditions?).

Koma realizes Yura asked her to come along on a double suicide, and that in some sense, Yura has been readying herself for it for a year, but she can't bring herself to go along with it. And so they're separated. Yura takes her own life - on top of everything else, disappointed that even Koma wouldn't accompany her.

The water rising in the train might "just" be Koma getting swallowed up by grief, but in light of "It's the same for me"... I can't make up my mind on whether I think she followed suit moments later or not.

Anyway, that's when I went a few pages back back and realized the ocean comes up as a visual for suicidal tendencies as early as page 18.

And that on page 3, the waves are "following" Yura as if they were at the beach, despite the playground equipment moments earlier - and then again on page 31, they're still at the playground, but the water rises to their ankles (a page later, they're completely dry. It's not literally water..!)

I really liked this one.

Wonder what changed her mind from "Flowers are beautiful because they're fleeting" to "There's no point to love if it'll be over in ten(!!!!) years".

It's not just you. The part about the moon's "magnetic field" halting human reproduction made me chuckle too. Trying to ground the premise in a sciency explanation just falls so flat that it's harder to take seriously than if it were just handwaved entirely.

and yea you really brought stupid real physics into an fictional story.

No, that was the author, I think

"Marisa has a sweet tooth" - "Reimu doesn't like sweets".... When Alice brings that cake, I can't help but think it's to make sure whether the Reimu in front of her really is Marisa like she claims. It makes me a bit more hopeful that at least -she- knows.

Nice, but... did they ever think of what to do if someone else accepted the invitation?

Had anyone else accepted it, they could have had her also accept it in the back, and then just pick her over the other volunteers.

It's pretty common, right? The honeysuckle is even named after it.

I'd be surprised if it didn't look at it critically, it's already commenting on the mismatch between her perception and the real multifaceted person in front of her a bit - I'm really interested in where this is going!

We have investigated the allegations levelled at the heads of our families, and discovered nooooooo evidence of wrongdoing.

Looks like all our family names are in the clear, and we don't have to worry about the effects our dads' ALLEGED impropriety may have on our respective futures. What a relief.

How nice of the King and Prince to look past the obvious conflict of interest there, and also past the glaring problem that - even setting the direct family ties aside - the suspects these two are investigating have VERY direct power over their livelihoods and futures. Acting against them in any way puts them at immediate risk of repercussion. And on top of all that, there's basically no way the suspects won't immediately catch wind of the investigation.

In the past, Komaki broke Wakaba's trust so thoroughly that Wakaba now can't see Komaki's extremely transparent attempt at closing the distance as anything but an endavour to clown on her further (and that, in turn, as a cry for help). I'm actually liking this so far, 'm looking forward to seeing how this resolves
