I'm intrigued by the potential for Kouyou/Momiji internal monologue about this identity stuff coming soon. Very much looking forward to the older sister as well

The outrage on yuritwt was caused by Manga Mogure rage baiting with sneaking "yuri(?)" into their description of the series. The creators did not try to sell this series as yuri; in all official communication this was just a romcom, and at most crossdressing was mentioned.

As for removing the series from Dynasty, the people of yuritwt wouldn't be placated by that since most of them are not regulars here.

i say keep it up! seems like the second chapter is pointing towards a more traditional wholesome romcom direction, and i would be stolked if they start incorperating some identity snippets too....

This is like a more crass "Boy Who Cried Wolf Tells Another Lie Today", which is not a bad thing imo

Boy Who Cried Wolf Tells Another Lie Today is actually peak kino. This manga needs another girl in the mix if it ever hopes to even come close to it.

Logged in to tell you to continue with this one please, I'd like to see where this goes. The people complaining spend too much time online and many of them frankly sound transphobic. Now if this ends up with her ending up with liking the guy as a guy then idc about this story lol.

This chapter was cute. I feel like it would be fun if she found out she's bisexual. I feel like that's the cherry on top that will send these chronically online psychos over the edge.

I'd like to see where it goes! Do I think it'll be entirely good and not fall into any gross tropes? Nah, it's already done that. But it could imitate the parts of mariaholic that were fun instead of boring so I'm willing to see. Still not betting it'll be good, but I'll at least give it a few more chapters to see if it's got more in it.

I'm still very on the fence... So with that context:

Momiji literally told Konno what was going on in their first girl-mode meeting, while standing at arm's length. That screenshotted comment calling the manga "rapey" is TERF-grade unhinged. Of all the ways the manga is problematic, rape is not on the list.

Boy Who Cried Wolf Tells Another Lie Today

Time for me to go re-read it. Was a little disappointed by the ending, but enjoyed the journey. (And as someone that had to squint all the time due to issues with light, but got told I hate pretty eyes when I was in comfortable lighting, I could relate to the MC at least a little bit.)

I know, right?

If you're having fun with this one I say keep going! I'm a trans girl and sometimes this kinda stuff is just a fun read, even if it turns out less trans on paper, every 'cross dressing boy' can be a beautiful girl in my mind forever.

I'm not going blanket say ALL the negative response to the manga was from trans folks, but in the little collage, I saw the trans flag in a bunch of the display names, so I assume the reaction was not of dogwhistle transmisogynist "ew why are these [men] in yuri" type comments but rather "this manga seems to be writing momiji in a stereotypical way and I don't like it" esque comment. Which I don't think is TERF or transphobic to hear from a transfem online? I think there's a general sentiment of recognizing a bunch of Otokonoko / crossdressing manga to have transfeminine readings under particular lens, so this manga being examined under such lens will face scrutiny in how the characters are currently being handled. I got Nothing against the scanlator, though, translate what you wanna translate

I re-read the first few chapters of that to figure out why I liked that but not this, and I think it has to do with who the main point of view character is, and also how they're established.

In Boy Who Cried Wolf Tells Another Lie Today, Itsuki is flat out told by his sister that he was in the wrong in various ways, but also him being the crossdresser and main point of view in the first few chapters naturally has us sympathize with him. Also, he in particular is not specifically said to be the root cause of Tokujira's androphobia; in fact, he learns he was basically just another random guy to her. (Addendum: Itsuki is told straight up by his sister "your plan is a bad idea, and the lies you'll tell will pile up until it all falls apart")

In Momiji and Kouyou, it's established early on that Ao is soured particularly on Kouyou early in her life because of his bullying, and eventually contributes to her general misandry / lack of liking boys. By having Ao as the point of view character, I think the reader naturally takes HER side, which is of annoyance that this guy is sp persistent.

But thats comparing apples to oranges right now, maybe. One's a manga that's done and I like, and one is the opposite of that.

I would like it if you continued translating it and uploading it here, I’m interested to see how this develops.

While the beginning did fall into a lot of really unfortunate negative queer sterotypes, I think this isn’t the worst or most problematic thing uploaded to dunasty, and it doesn’t need to be removed.

Personally I’m interested in seeing when/if we get a pov chapter for Kouyou, it’s possible he(?) has genuine transgender feelings even if the language used isn’t the best.

It also had the yuri tag here, it was just removed, that is why the comments are all angry at the beginning.

They are regulars here too, most people on this forum mention twitter yuri communities and in twitter there are constant post-memes-screenshots of dynasty.

I'll keep reading if you keep translating.
It's probably gonna be more silly than serious and that's all it wants and needs to be.

Exactly. A lot of the negative reaction was from trans people, because of the way the synopsis was presented on Twitter. I find it odd that some people think the reaction was motivated by transphobia, especially when the MC isn't written as a trans woman.

There's a lot I could get into about the entire trope of Otokonoko/Crossdressing in Anime & Manga and how they're written, but that's a bigger discussion. Regardless, the first chapter of this was pretty mediocre even without the bad handling of queer stuff, so I'm not interested in reading further. The Scanlator is free to do whatever they want regardless of complaints.

Comments like these are so bizzare. Do you truly think the love interest being possibly bisexual is what people were initially angry about? You'd have to remove all context from how this story was introduced.

hmm... something i was looking forward to how the manga would handle was momiji's voice, which was glossed over sadly. the author had enough foresight to understand voice is an issue but not enough knowledge to know of voice training and its intricacies, sadly

i suppose the next thing to be addressed is how kouyou mistakenly believed that crossdressing once would be enough to make friends with ao, which i raised an eyebrow at. that this was written at all indicates the author wanted us to see this aspect of kouyou's character, and also wanted us to see ao express outright she only wants to hang out with momiji.

because i am a defective freak the way i'm hoping this will go is momiji becomes a girl forever, where ao's willpower overwhelms kouyou. disappear for us, kouyou. make way for momiji

(the pessimist in me is not so confident)
