I looked around and I found that there is a "ne" reading for "子"

子の刻 (ne no koku)（ねのこく）: old time period around 11 p.m.–1 a.m.

So 花子 can still be read as はね "Hane"

Yeah, Junna refers to them planning to go to the cafe together as a date but it seems like they haven't actually confessed yet which I guess is why the title refers to crushes even if I agree with the person a while back that Hane is the one who crushes harder although I do think it's more about Junna slowly coming to terms with her feeling for Hane while Hane is already all-in but held back by her guilt.

Last chapter too with her friends saying "try to hold back in public spaces" felt very dating coded.
