Was she surviving on ugly bastard's blood until now to be so weak to maidens?

The lines about sweets, wine and her buying tomato juice from the supermarket makes me believe that vampires in this series don't need blood to survive.

Ruruna-sama is going to die of a heart attack at this rate. If she's been surviving on tomato juice this whole time, no wonder she can't handle this, it's like someone who's only eaten spam their whole life being exposed to real food.

I for one, think I'll continue to enjoy the adventures of the world's most sexually repressed vampire.

Same here! In chapters one and two, the blonde-haired girl appears twice, which makes me think it won’t turn into a harem. However, at the end of chapter one, the line "her first servant wasn’t what she expected" could imply two things: there might be more "servants" (girls), or the story will continue focusing on the same blonde-haired girl. :)

I lowkey love the way the Japanese titles of these two chapters both literally translated to English titles with double meanings that balance each other nicely.

OK, listen, so far I have no idea if she's being controlled or not. But if you think about it, isn't it too extreme to react to "fawn over me" by going for an intimate hug, complimenting her body, and then freaking going for a kiss?

Either she's 1. just gay as hell or 2. gay as hell and being controlled. Either way she's gay as hell

I think it's a silly but fun thing myself, and it pops up in manga here and there

Yeah, it's a common trope in Japan to make vampire stuff kid-friendly (and for comedy).

Endo Yasuko Stalks the Night had a vampire eating a bowl of cherry tomatoes so naturally I thought it was some kind of innuendo since it was Flowerchild.

Just to add to the theory that the human girl is not really under the vampire's control: her last name "von Bettelheim" is german and translates to "of/from the home of begging". That does not really invoke the image of someone who wears the pants in her relationships...

Bettelheim is actually a jewish surname of hungarian origin; baring evidence to the contrary, i don't believe Teren Mikami intended such Eindeutung. Statistically, foreign authors are more likely to accidentially create asemantic abominations instead.

Huh, interesting. The "von" part is a clear sign of german nobility though, and both "bettel" and "heim" are normal german words on their own. Though it may well be the author had no idea behind the meaning of the name, which would make it even more funny that it can be seen as very fitting for the vampire girl.
