Forum › A Yuri Story About How My Classmate Whose Only Good Trait Is Her Excessively Pretty Face Comes At Me Relentlessly discussion
It’s remarkable how commenters here care so much more about the boyfriend than the story does.
Or Ritsu.
And honestly ? I think it's fine. It's clearly written as the boy being tradition, obligation, and to be honest, setup. A manga like this one doesn't care about those things primarily. It cares about the feelings of its protagonists. And Ritsu's feelings have been for Tsuzuri since the first chapter.
The only reason he stills exists is because it supports a bit of drama - "how do I break up, how do I tell the news, what will it do to my image". Elements that are part of the story, but not the main part, since romance and comedy are more important than drama.
Also... people give far too much importance to a relationship that never meant anything. They're treating this like a NTR story, which it really isn't.
It's a romance story, between two girls who manage to be awkward for the dumbest thing, and it's great at that <3

Maybe I missed it but I don't think I've seen people treating it like NTR here? For me at least I don't care about the boy, I just want to rip the band-aid off and get that breakup over with it. Once that happens I figure he won't be used for drama, and we can relax into comfy relationship times with our adorable couple. So I only "care" as far as he's a potential drama card the author is holding onto, and it makes worried that drama might be around the corner. Regardless I know our couple will get through it and have a happy ending.
consensual kissing too sexy for local high-school girl, chooses to run away

I haven't seen anyone treat this as an NTR story either, and even if it was, plenty of us have enjoyed yuri stories with more serious cheating. It's obviously not the main focus, but it's also fair to acknowledge that not breaking up with someone and trying to be with someone else is kind of shitty. Both her sister and Yarai have pointed out that she's cheating and it's not a good thing, so clearly the story does care about it. Just because it's a romance doesn't mean our leads are incapable of doing wrong and being called out for it.
She still didn't break up with her bf though.
It's not cheating if your boyfriend is a wasteman (✿^‿^)

Yeah, it's cheating, but it's not an NTR story. Those have a certain style, perspective, and intent to them. Having said that, I wonder if she'll ever break up with her BF or if this will be the gag for a while--just pretending or forgetting he exists until someone brings it up during the girls' wedding lol.

Open communication and knowing where the other person stands is always refreshing to see.

Agreed, I don't want him to be used as potential angst in the future
Cute. :D
So what are you planning to do at your place? :P
I love how “moderate yourself” was immediately followed up with, “let’s go to my place” right after it’s established that they’d go all the way (with consent)
So…. Is that gonna happen or?

This is literally the only reason I care about him too (i just vocalized if poorly)— I think 99% only care about him for that reason as well.
I want this to story to have as few bumps as possible now that they’re dating— and cutting off the boyfriend is the best way to ensure maximum fluff
Does this girl ever understands the concept of moderation?
