There’s no reason why she hasn’t broken up with him. Just do it over text. There’s zero reason to go meet him in person to break up and it’s safer for her over text.

He was comfortable grabbing her and trying to force a kiss on her without making sure she was actually okay with it, I’m sure grabbing her and begging, “Please, hear me out! I’ll do better!” Isn’t far beneath him— and hurt people are unpredictable. Best to do it over text just to say that you did it, block and move on

It's polite to break up in person, especially if the other person confessed in person. I'm assuming breaking up via text or phone isn't even a possibility in her mind, and would be perceived as a bit rude to her friends and classmates. We'll see though! They made him irrelevant and even joked about that in this chapter lol, so I'm really wanting to see how they handle it. It feels like only comedy would work without feeling like a disorienting tone shift.

No, you’re right about that. I just mean the discussion about the “proper” and ethical way to treat a character who was introduced as a scumbag and kept offstage ever since.

It's more about what she would want to do. I'd definitely break up over text and go on about my day, but I doubt a young Japanese girl who worries about how she's viewed will want to deal with the results of that.

Also yeah I think my main worry with the potential drama is that she cares about her reputation, and if she was caught cheating how that could get ugly fast for various reasons including the impact on her social life, outside of friends it could lead to potential bullying at school and so forth. I really hope she breaks up with him soon, and it's a clean + simple break. I want the boyfriend out of the story so we don't have to think about him anymore, and then in theory we can focus on the girls being happy together.

Does the boyfriend even exist? Do men even exist in this series? I do not recall any textual evidence of men in any panel, my yuri goggles do not allow for it. I am not clear that men exist IRL either, they may just be a forum rumor.
