them getting a beer from some old guy is accurate, old people do not give a fuck about children drinking.

So, yet another manga taking place in Ueno, ha? Katsuwo really seems to like that place.

Ah, this is by the artist who made Hitoribocchi, I thought they had a similar vibe.

Lol the age verification button. I know generally if you look like a person of age, most places in the world won't ask for your ID but in the cases they feel like they need to verify your age they would check your ID. So I was pretty surprised that all I needed to do in Japan was just tap a button at a conbini to totally "prove" you're of age. This is coming from someone who got ID'd while sitting outside of a liquor store in my home country waiting for my friends who were making purchases inside cause I still don't look like an adult even though I'm quite a few years past legal age.

^Oh, you still need to prove that you're of legal age. ( Hence the employee calling her out when she tried to push yes). I think the button is more of a personal responsability thing. By pushing it you explicitly claim to be of age, so if shit happen you can't claim you didn't explicitly lie or it's the employee's fault.
Though I assume someone who is clearly old enough won't be asked for paper.

This has the same energy as Mitsuboshi Colors. Which, it's Katsuwo so that's not surprising.

Wait, "street children"? With that expensive fashion, the nails and haircut and all? Aren't they just skipping school?

Where'd Stella go when she went to edit the image on "the PC"? They don't have money for an internet cafe, so I assumed she went home to use a computer... but then they're talking about having trouble finding lunch? (Does Japan have computers at public libraries?)

What's the premise here exactly...?

Yeah, they're not homeless, they just spend their day on the streets instead of going to school.

From what I can tell, Stella did the editing on her phone, but they call it a "PC" for some reason.

They look like well-off (or okay) delinquents, they talk like homeless kids, I have no idea what's going on, including whether it's even intended to make sense.

This manga is most likely based on the Toyoko Kids, which are teenagers in Japan who run away from their homes and congregate in the Toyoko Plaza in Kabukicho, Tokyo.
