my understanding is the physical body of Gill is factory reset and has no memory/personality. but the "consciousness" escaped to the prison network and is watching what is happening through the cameras? and probably doing other shenanigans
The Doc bringing up Su and her situation seems a bit too meddling for someone just keeping an eye on a social experiment / product test. Methinks he's trying to help, hoping the sapient Gill is still in there. I don't think he knows she's still there, and she's keeping the ruse so as to not have the body scrapped.
