I discovered this last night and have now read chapters 1 through 15 over the course of two sittings. I'm loving it so far! I am baffled that it's taken me this long to discover dubcon manga because, funnily enough, I actually have no experience with dubcon manga as most manga I've happened to read so far has been of the wholesome variety.

I am, however, no stranger to dubcon itself as I am quite fond of dubcon audios (in fact, I prefer dubcon/noncon to the consentual stuff) but, I must say, the visual medium of manga seems to work really well with dubcon specifically in a way that audio simply doesn't. My guess is that there's some naunce I'm getting from actually being able to see the characters' facial expessions and body language that builds tension in a way an audio format simply cannot do? It also hadn't occured to me just how critically important naunce is to good dubcon versus works that are explicitly noncon or even the vanilla constentual stuff.

Whatever the reason, I'm wanting more and, thankfully, a few similar titles have been mentioned in this thread and so I'm going to be giving those a look as well as scouring the Dubious Consent tag on this website for the foreseeable future! <3

Since Wakaba doesn't even get the blatant affection from Komaki, how could she understand Matsuri's innuendo? Matsuri plainly said "I like you", but Wakaba just didn't take it at face value. Meanwhile, she took the "I hate you" from Komaki at face value.

Wakaba is really dense.

I wonder if it has to do with Wakaba already being Komaki’s. Subconsciously in love with Komaki.

Jokes aside, I enjoy the premise - but it gets frustrating sometimes for sure tho. I don't really mind Wakaba being dense, that's a fine enough trope, but Komaki bottling up her emotions THIS much is a little incomprehensible. Her argumemt that since Wakaba will never love her back she should be the one she hates the most is a little flimsy of an excuse imo. But still, I like how things are going so far and their relationship still feels tender and wholesome in a fucked up way.

Matsuri is probably a healthier option for Wakaba tho. I enjoy the way she's making moves on Wakaba, it's so smooth and risky it makes my heart flutter. I wish she went further tho, even though it's a doomed ship, I want her to be more assertive and actually pose some kind of threat to Komaki, would ironically make her open up her feelings a bit more.

Yeah I don't read this to see people being nice to each other. Let the suffering commence.

What I'm getting is that, even if Wakaba does still like her, Komaki feels like she no longer deserves or can have that kind of relationship. She feels must sabotage herself instead. She may be intending to try to separate Wakaba from Matsuri as a repeat of what she did with whoever that boy was that I don't care about. This seems unlikely to work. Either Matsuri is being honest about being a nice person who cares about both of them or else she is secretly evil and super manipulative. In neither case will she act generic background extra guy and go along with isolating Wakaba.

What im hoping for is that
At the end of it they both find out how each other has been feeling, but the damage done is so bad that the truth doesnt change the outcome

So it's just extra heartbreak of wow we couldve been so good to each other (or i guess in komaki's case, oh i coudlve been wakaba's no1 in a different way. )
And they have to seperate but also cant help but think about each other for the rest of their lives!!!
It's bittersweet obsession!

The inexplicable pull towards each other brings them together again by coincidence

Ok, plot is moving! Really want to see how they handle everything here. It's been fun. It's also matched the novel release almost 1-to-1, which I don't think I've seen very often? We're "mid to end" of volume 3, and this is "mid to end" of volume 3 of the novels, too.

Give Komaki exactly what she “wants,” let her realize what that actually entails, and force her to come crawling back to Wakaba begging for forgiveness.

Usually I'm all for escalation and shit being set on fire but I understand Komaki's motivations so little I'm just watching her self-sabotage to the highest degree and I don't even know why

There should be a self sabotage tag. For a smart girl, her level of thinking is so warped. It just goes to show how much Wakaba is fully on her mind to the point where it's obsessive. "What I'm doing is not working, so I have to do it more until it works!"

Did Komaki lick lead paint offa toy cars as a kid or something cause her logical reasoning is back-asswards.

All in all even if there's a happy ending, im excited to see what the author serves us
