Mitsuki you're literally dating--it's okay to grin about your girlfriend ya doof!
Are they dating though? They sure don't act like it.
We didn't get a '' will you'' moment yet, but they're definitely acting like a couple. They might be taking their time I guess, with the exams coming up and all that.
They were literally making out during an at home date like 4 chapters ago.
Which makes it even weirder why Mitsuki is calling herself gross— for all we know, they kissed at prom, then went back to the group to hang out and dance (without talking), and whenever they hang together 1 on 1, they dont really seem to have any convos on what “they” are.
I mean, a few chapters after the prom, Aya talks about how a week passed since they kissed and they were meeting for the first time since then, and they were awkward at first (which makes it fr seem like after they got done kissing, they checked their phones and left without having a convo)
With how Mitsuki talks here, “i really do like you…” it doesn’t seem like they’re dating at that point
Also, obviously, they’re still referring to each other on a first name basis— even here instead of deciding to call Aya by her first name, she instead picks her mom (And Aya obvi wanted to be the one on a first name basis with Mitsuki, yet she hasn’t voiced that yet?)
And in this chapter Mitsuki basically admits that they been smooching on a regular basis
And yet, despite that, Aya is clearly insecure/doubting her self worth (or something along those lines, the right words are escaping me atm) and idk, if they had made it clear what “they” are, she might’ve fallen back on that? Idk maybe thats a mute point—
Oh, and even in their thoughts/POV, do they refer to each other as “my girl/girlfriend” or anyway thats different from how they thought of each other before the kiss + when the new girl (i forgot her name) said that Mitsuki was talking about Aya’s music and talks about her all the time, she was like “for real? For really real?” Like, genuine shock and stuff— but if they had made it clear they were dating, she wouldnt be so surprised— an “oh, really?” Or smthn… idk i just feel like the reaction is a bit tooooo much; like they’re not in the dating phase, but the “they have a crush on each other but haven’t said anything yet” phase
All that yapping to say;
It seems like they didnt make things clear to each other; even IF they kissed, that doesn’t necessarily mean they know or even think they’re dating— and knowing FOR SURE is WAYYYYYYYYY better than just assuming and having some doubt— and they really are treating each other the exact same as how they used to, them kissing regularly being the only thing thats different, which, them acting the same wouldnt be an issue if they made it clear they’re dating, but because they didnt have the talk yet, they’re being intimate like that while “still friends” (if that makes sense?)
Kissing is fine, but thinking about her and smiling makes her gross? Mitsuki’s thoughts imo paint the picture that they haven’t made things clear yet, and are in a grey area
