Honestly, it seems like it's going really well. Probably better than he expected, even if it's not in the way he expected.

The Kanna san plot line is just so boring for me, I couldn't care less about it, feels like it's there just so the author don't have to write about the main "couple" which is not getting development at all since around chapter 60

I just said it? Because the author doesn't know how to develop the main couple, it hasn't developed at all since Aya discovered Koga was "oni-san"

I mean, this could be just due to perspective, but I can't really see a reason to agree with this. Progress has been made, even if a confession hasn't happened yet.

Also, to me at least, it feels like the situation with Kanna is not only to act like padding (since a story resolving too quickly can technically be a problem), but to also give a proper identity to the Uncle, so he's not just someone who simply exists.

Phenomenal manga but “wasnt a boy at all” is a terrible title. I know it was a placeholder but now that we know more Id prefer “smells like teen spirit” or something, that evokes the teenage aangst and western rock music they love

Regardless, it doesn't change that this is how it begins, and how people new to the story will go into it as an expected plot point.

... I dunno, this just kinda reinforces to me that I don't like this author's writing- it was more confusing to see than anything that she's now suddenly fine and her closest friend didn't know shit about it.

Personally I can't see this as her being fine. The way she reacted during the incident, in combination with the week long gap feels less like her being fine and more like she found a way to apply a new mask to deal with the resurfaced trauma. It's not normal.

Nah. I think she got what the mother was going for, and in a way likely sees this as an opportunity to further herself towards her own dream goal. Circumstances might seem a little cryptic, but this could be seen as a "win, win, win" for the three of them.

Well, it's not like he's doing intentionally. He very much just seems happy to be there with some friends. Plus he made it clear early on that he supports them.

Going through life as she has, her mentality makes sense. She hasn't been dealing with a full deck.

It's interesting me to me that there are debates with the relationship of the two main characters, when a few side images very well near the start fairly strongly suggested that it's a given they got together.

I get it, for those that want to see some serious development with the relationship, but there's more to an actual relationship than leaping from point A to point Z. Plus, plenty of other stories have a lot of these moments too. It's just that these are more seemingly accentuated due to the smaller uploads.
