My working theory is that Neji has gotten themselves a pet hamster and is now itching to tell everyone everything they've learned about caring for it. That seems how most cat(girl) mangas come into being nowadays, anyway...

Absolutely would not be shocked lol, the thought definitely crossed my mind as well
So she went from a big time Hollywood star, to a part time job?
Why would you assume it's a part-time job?
Okay I have no proof it's a part time job per se. But she is in some sort of warehouse or store wearing an apron, and getting scolded for slacking off, by a boss type character. I would definitely say that's sufficient context clues to conclude she now has a low level job of some kind.
Can somebody tell me which word they use for "favorite" in Japanese?
Is it some otaku slang word?
The Japanese title is "Kuzuryu-san no Oshi wa Chiisai". Oshi (literally meaning "push") being a slang for someone you really wanna support like an idol. Some English speakers have recently used the term "stan" to convey that feeling, but I really don't care for that word.
