The most interesting part of the chapter was the fact that Utena is doubting so much about her real feelings towards Kiwi. Even if she said that she is doing it for the promise, we can see that she has some hidden feelings and also doubted a lot to Kiwi's final question. After all, Utena has been busy with many other things to to think about her true feelings leaving beside her sexual thoughts.

Personally I like A LOT Kiwi and Utena's relationship, but i fear that the may or may not get together. But i will pray for them and for their adopted child Alice.

What was the promise and when did it happen? With how long the time is between each release, I don't remember at all.

I wonder if the mascot stopped them because if Utena legitimately falls for Kiwi her corruption/evil potential would disappear. We know the driving force behind her power is her love and fanaticism for the magical girls being twisted and contorted, so if magical girls are replaced by Kiwi in her heart maybe her powers go as well? It definitely seems like the mascot has a bigger plan behind all this.

On the other hand, it would seem entirely appropriate for her to have a full on BSDM orgy with all of Enormeeta and Tres Magia together. I think Sulfur is close from going to the dark side and Venalita noticed it. She's a violent one and is closer from a villain than the two others.

For once, I agree with your assessment. Utena cares a lot about Kiwi, but doesn't feel attracted to her in that primeval, physical sense like she does with Azul. That's why she is all crawled-up in a ball here: her mind knows she is about to have sex but her body just says no. It's decisively not fair for Kiwi, but there is not much she can do about Utena's subconscious.

That said, I do think that Kiwi was about to turn the mood around and to get some physical response from Utena right before her trauma reared its ugly head and she asked the Question, killing the mood. In fact, I am actually glad that Vena interrupted them: they were definitely not ready mentally -- neither to talk it out, nor to have sex to begin with.
