Mitsuki is definitely not aware of Rinko's feelings, she's just not that observant, and you can see from her innocent expression when she looks back that she has no idea she's dashing the girl's hopes

Which means she sprinted out into the rain because she saw Aya.

She ran through the rain to join her girlfriend under the umbrella slightly sooner.

Like, I get that Aya and Mitsuki need to talk about Mitsuki's music. Mitsuki needs to process her feelings and her upset and she needs to understand that Aya isn't going to judge her. But let's not get this twisted. This isn't a relationship problem. They are as into each other as they have ever been, that was the point of the Narita "cupid" episode.

Mitsuki's problem is a Mitsuki problem, not a MitsuAya problem.

Not entirely sure where all this is going, if the band theory I echoed before is right or not, but at the very least, I don't see anything hinting at a breakup arc.

I like Tall Girl. I hope she find happiness and get a girlfriend of her own.

Bingo! Contverial opinion, but I find the post time-skip version of this story more interesting, realistic and entertaining than the original HS story.

Can’t say I agree on that. I still enjoy it, don’t get me wrong, but the current plot feels very scattered. Like there are a bunch of balls being tossed in the air simultaneously. It’s fun, but it’s also a bit hard to follow. I prefer the High School part of the story, which felt a lot tighter, plot-wise.

The high school story felt good because it had basically all the tropes. It was the titular part of the story (Aya discovering Mitsuki wasn't a guy after all), and I loved the feeling of that build up to the kiss at prom. I really love the slice of life vibes of the adult timeline but it's a bit less exciting and more mellow in that way. But also a bit more scattered, because there's no 1 "goal" anymore - it's just them living their lives... still, I wonder what the next "first kiss" moment will be? Engagement? Soon...

I love how Aya never denies it and did not act like a tsundere one, she confidently says she really love lots Mitsuki, also awwwwww mitsuki getting the rain on just to shield Aya from the cold rain. TvT

agree, this is a very good way to put it. it's not a fault of the relationship per se (mitsuaya problem), but more so mitsuki's own personal trouble within herself. i personally dont think anyone is gonna date someone else. mitsuki's oblivious and aya is just trying to understand mitsuki.

It’s definitely one of the more notable fictional manga tropes. As you say, real-life evidence suggests that the Japanese are as well-equipped to deal with rainy weather as are people in any other place where it rains regularly, but in fiction it seems like the rain itself causes disease (which is why characters who have gotten wet in the rain must immediately be placed in an emergency bath or shower).

Another great chapter. Really love the way Aya looked on that last page. Good mix of smug, confidence and "the audacity of this bitch," but in a loving way. A lot of personality in a "frame." They're both so sweet.
