There was a large gap between chapters, probably because Sal Jiang was busy with the live adaptation of her other manga, plus a oneshot in YuriHime. She's a busy bee.

Next chapter is scheduled for 2026/01/02, so hopefully we'll get a chapter per month from now on.

What series is she adapting?

Also it's not like even objective shortcomings invalidate your enjoyment of something. Some people seem to believe they're only allowed to like things with deep literary value and consequently will start seekign reasons on why their favourite story is actually a contender for a nobel prize in literature, Perhaps admitting to flaws in something you like is no different than owning up to flaws of your own.

I love Nanoha but a lot about it is kind of shit, and I don't even mean the occasional underage fanservice.

Honestly, it's often flawed gems that inspire the most passion, as something about a work engages people, then they try to rationalize or fix its flaws. Nanoha, pre-TERF Harry Potter, White Wolf RPGs...

That live action series and the recent live action adaptation of "Even Though We're Adults," were both great.

Speaking about even though we're adults, is there anywhere I can read it full?

It has a complete official English Translation. That's all I know. Pretty sure any other TL stopped when the official started. Anything else I've seen that was complete was a direct rip-off of the official release. The live action is good too and has English subs out there.

I have problems with Ayaka-chan, the serialization needed the story to be more grounded, which made the joke "is my straight coworker giving me mixed signals?" drag in a way that doesn't work (for me) in a serious tone. Not only Ayaka-chan, I think many pixiv manga lost their appeal in official serialization.
Hiroko being a horny lady-killer full of confidence lesbian is the best part for me, something that is not common in the genre.

I'm pretty much of the opposite mind here, I love Ayaka-chan and the serialization. It doesn't drag at all for me or have any tone problems. I also think I don't have a problem with most Pixiv serializations honestly lol

You watched the live action? Or even the "Even Though We're Adults" one?

I know you were talking about the show but for some reason I thought Appstore was talking about the manga. I might have messed up there, apologies. With the show I've heard mostly good things through social media but haven't seen it yet, though I'm excitedly planning on it since the manga is one of my favorites.

No, I think Appstore was talking about the manga. I just changed topics back to the live action shows, since you mentioned liking the manga.

Oh okay, apologies then I was getting my wires crossed in varied ways. Yeah though I'm definitely looking forward to watching the live action, and I want to watch more live action adaptions soon.

I think Hanako at the end was in conflict with hearing the women proclaimed as witches. Before, she was either blissfully unaware or purposefully ignorant that Tae-Wol was one of the witches they were sent to find, and after learning/hearing it confirmed she's falling back on her hatred of witches and no longer fawning over Tae-Wol.

I really wonder what's going through Hana's head with all of this. Some part of me can't really comprehend how deep her hatred runs I guess, and how much she hates that Sadako just really digs her vibe.

dang it, another cliff-hanger. These chapters feel so short :/

I can't get over how Sal is a master of highly detailed and expressive faces, but she has Mone drop into this almost cartoonish caricature when she gets blitzed by Sadako. The juxtaposition is fantastic.

This manga is awesome, but personally I am not a fan of battle shonen type of stories, which is the course this manga taking imo

I had a hard time following the fight scene for some reason.

Still love Sadako, though I'm confused as to why she reacted this way. Has there been some mention of her being called demon in the past? I can't recall.

These chapters feel so short :/

Probably because they are. The first volume 20+ pages in each chapter, while the second mostly has 16.

The series being Battle/Action is the course Sal Jiang set early on. Here's Moondrag's comment from page 2 - October 13th 2024:

I checked out the tags on the page for the raws and those are some interesting tags. (This is though Google TL)

Female
Battle/Action
Yuri
Female protagonist
Modern
Friendship/Companions
Adventure

It's one of the aspects of the series that I've personally been excited about since then.

Also with this chapter in particular, a lot of pages have only a few big action panels, which for me at least makes them a lot faster to read over

In the first chapter it was made clear that Sadako had killed people before, and didn't really comprehend that she had done so. My guess is that Mone's actions triggered Sadako's instincts to start 'playing' and she simply has no comprehension of the fact that she was actually 'attacking.'

i dont think sal jiang's strengths lie in action scenes, it's pretty hard to parse what's going on. kind of lame when that's basically the whole chapter :/ i had high hopes for this manga from the beginning but it's been losing me for a bit.
