So everything is suddenly in motion. I don't expect any of these four to die, but there will probably be a crazy fight scene. The witches council or whomever might just step in at the end of this
The gender of Moon is still unknown.
While they use male language (boku) it doesn't mean much if they want to take on the role of the "prince". When Marina refers to Moon, she doesn't say "that guy", she uses a gender neutral word, "yatsu".
In my opinion, Sal Jiang is playing on the ambiguity on purpose. And for some reason, it makes the yuri purists foam at the mouth and say that this manga isn't yuri.
Forgetting that Sal Jiang only ever writes yuri.
This is along the lines of what I was thinking, there's various nuances of language and culture being shown here. Plus the possible obscuring of identity of purpose.
I'm also reminded of the probably rare cases where even with English there's some butch lesbians that go by he/him. There's so many varying and even complex elements to usage of language and identity.
Specifically talking about the likes of Twitter here, it's something also where more people need to let the author do their thing and see how it unfolds. Unfortunately a lot of people on social media feel entitled, combined with social media having such a nasty culture of bullying. If I ever wrote something I'd avoid social media like the plague for that reason (and other reasons).
You are telling me that Sal Jiang got jumped on twitter for this? lol Sorry to be rude but people can be so dumb, it’s not the first time I see that weird attitude from yuri fans, but we are talking about Sal Jiang here XD

Yes, the whole manga has old battle shonen vibes, where we had crazy battles but everything was more comical and relaxed, and death was reserved to a few individuals lol. Also with this manga I think Sal Jiang is trying to do a “you can grow from your past mistakes” so I don’t think anyone will die

Apologies I should clarify, I haven’t seen people attacking her, though I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some. When I was typing I was thinking about the general purist vibe that goes around, with Twitter and Reddit I’ve seen how people insult Battan. Turn on Love Bullet. People calling the mangaka of Dungeon Meshi homophobic for not confirming Marcille and Falin, despite her being open to fans enjoying the series how they want, and Meshi having at least one canonical lesbian/bisexual side character. There’s lots of other examples, like people attacking Dana Terrace and that whole needless drama earlier this year, social media often sucks and people are extreme.
Anyhow, a good way to support this series is by going through the JP version of the chapter and hitting the heart at the end, here’s the link Sal Jiang posted:

Oh I see! I am glad then that people are not jumping Sal Jiang, and yes, there are far more examples, but I was unaware about Love Bullet all I saw was love and support to the author

this manga is becoming less and less and less interesting by the day
what is going on. there was a new development like every other page. my head hurts
A) Touch fluffy tail.
B) Does Sadako sleep without underwear?
C) Title Drop
D) Despite A through C, I must agree with 17hunter00. I'm not getting the feeling this chapter was written as part of a greater arc, but only to meet a deadline. There's so much stuff left dangling by now (anybody remember yoshi?) that I feel will not contribute to a satisfying conclusion.
This is probably the messiest manga she's ever made, too much is happening too fast and I don't get why.
I think this chapter was great and don't get what's confusing about it? Maybe someone could explain that because it felt straightforward to me. Also, have no issue with its pacing; we've been with this case for a few chapters now. The reveal of something hidden behind the 4 was building since they arrived and we already knew they were on a case to catch these witches.
The only new thing was the Wicked Spot, which had a simple enough explanation and the other form for Prince and the others. I feel like this chapter sets up so much potential. How will everyone react next chapter? Why were these 4 being targeted really? Are our main girls on the "right" side and will they falter in their duty? The allegiances could get messy, since they've become close to these girls, while we still don't know if trusting them is advisable yet. Then we have what Mone is investigating about our MC's past. Personally I'm really looking forward to what's next, even moreso after this chapter.

Does she realized Tae-wo is a woman before that she is a wolf?
Does she realized Tae-wo is a woman before that she is a wolf?
As Kirin-kun said today in a previous comment, Tae-wo gender is still unknown (but the ambiguity is most likely intentional)
Part of me thinks this ambiguity isn't even an important plot and it's assumed that the reader understands that Moon is just masc, but who knows maybe Sal Jiang surprises us with a trans plot

I think we're in the same boat, and I'm glad to see someone that enjoyed the chapter to a similar degree as I did. I was honestly surprised to look back at the thread and see various people that think this chapter was some variation of bad, boring, confusing, and so on. I thought it was great, but everyone has their opinions and all that. I'm definitely excited to keep reading and this chapter only made me more excited for future chapters. If I could binge read 30 chapters of this series right now I'd be thrilled to do so lol

[random anecdotes about people disliking stuff] is a very serious problem that is somehow strongly related to Wicked Spot

The first volume was great but I think this mission arc in the second one suffers from a more serialized plot being delivered in shorter bits and with an irregular update schedule. I can only hope it will read better in a binge

The origin of this conversation was Kirin-Kun's comment on the previous page:

It made me think about how I see that with a lot of Yuri manga, with how social media is quick to attack creatives any time a story goes in a direction that they don't like, introduces an element or character that they don't like, fans taking something in a bad way, and so on. People turn FAST on creators, and I worry for Sal Jiang because the purist part of fandoms has only gotten worse over the years. I think that's very relevant personally but it's fine if we don't agree.

I agree, I also found no issue with the plot or the pacing. But I can understand where people are coming from. The series has a limited number of pages per chapter and a somewhat inconsistent chapter release schedule , so it might feel to some that the pacing is off and that everything needs to be crammed into one chapter. But I think the wolf reveal and the cliffhanger in this chapter were interesting, so nothing felt off to me here. :)

I think that's fair, and maybe for some of the people that aren't clicking with the series now a re-read binge later might be an improved experience.
There was a large gap between chapters, probably because Sal Jiang was busy with the live adaptation of her other manga, plus a oneshot in YuriHime. She's a busy bee.
Next chapter is scheduled for 2026/01/02, so hopefully we'll get a chapter per month from now on.
