Is rushed and all that but its a one-shot so it makes sense, what I don’t agree is that this is a poisonous fucked-up self-loathing lesbian story, is 100% wholesome. The way her circumstances were show felt the same as when an author wants to kill a character but want you to feel bad for them so out of nowhere you get a full chapter about their sad childhood

i really like this 1shot but reading the comments makes me think have none of you met this kind of personality before??? cuz i have, and while none of them wore a bunnysuit 24/7 for a whole month they likewise acted in completely irrational self-destructive ways in order to spite the voices in their head

idk what kind of ""depth"" ur looking for but this was pretty spoton from the receiver end, this is a story told from kano's pov and not hodaka's. bc the latter would be way too long and boring and include too many pieces that are too hard to explain

It’s prolly just me but when the chick mentioned how she wanted to die, but then decided to live as a bunny girl immediately made me think of Tama from 100 girlfriends. The only similarity is that they both wanted to die, but lived and became something else (Tama became a cat)

It’s just so… random and silly, I can ignore the bad writing cuz it’s pretty cute over all

I don't get the negative comments at all. This is a great one-shot, easy to follow and without the kind of forced bad ending you'd expect. Let depressed lesbians be a little silly, dress up like bunny girls and go gambling lol

I downloaded the raws for the whole anthology months ago but forgot to check for translations smh

Anyways, I liked this, and while it's a bit late to make the joke, I'm gonna tell future generations this was the real Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai.

I'm surprised no one sees this as a trans allegory!

I think a huge part of transitioning is finding the way you present yourself and coming to terms with growing up knowing something is wrong in your own body, and having that realization be met with fierce resistance. Hodaka, to me, represents that journey. I see her smoking and gambling as trying to force herself to be someone she isn't, in a similar way that a trans person might try to force masculinity or femininity when it feels unnatural, as way to rebel against her traumatic upbringing. But after rooming with Kano for a bit, she settles on being Hodaka, resembling her old self but being distinct and content. And I think that's quite nice!

I think it's pretty realistic. How many actually know if someone has depression just from looking at them because often times they're good actors wearing cheerful smiles on the outside. In this story's defense, people completely missed the point of why she snapped, because she was reminded of the birthday of someone she thought was not her, something her mother created. Her actions to me feel like she's not trying to outright reject being 'Hodaka' but more like a subtle cry for someone to help her resolve with her former self (terrible mother doesn't mean you have to hate yourself too). And i think regardless of how you want to abandon your former self, it is still a part of you, presented outward through subconcious actions like how the MC said the way she ate was elegant. I really think to move on you have to embrace your past and thus she did. One more thing i like about this story which is also hated is the talk at the end. It's not trauma dump when the talk is mutually consented. They're talking like adults and i think it's a nice and mature way to resolve problems, more story should include this, in fact.
