Well this is a first, never have I read a one shot with 122 pages.
The story is truly beautiful and was pleasant to read :)

Nice story but the curse was weird. Even if you find a lover, they become disfigured at the very least?

Curse lifted in the process of killing her?

The art is STUNNING. I love how it looks vintage and modern all at once. Also WTF AUNTIE?!

I love that Bella called out Anna in the end. People making decisions for her is what got her into this mess in the first place. At least the prince wasn't a creep and understood that Bella could never love him.

I love Anna and Bella together. I love their love.

That was phenomenal… It felt like the first time I read yuri. Definitely look forward for more work from this artist.

Curse lifted in the process of killing her?

maybe it relates to the concept of a true love's kiss, a familiar trope in fairy tales and children's literature. Given that this one-shot had a similar vibe, the idea of the kiss breaking the spell and saving her seems to make sense. :)

this was so phenomenal! From the art to the story I didn't even realize how many pages it was because I just flew through it. This honestly works really well as a fairy tale since its even got a thematic throughline of how what Bella wants is ignored by the other people in her life, even those who truly do love her, and how in the end she takes matters into her own hands to be with the one she loves and lift her own curse.

I would have sworn it's same artist/author as Forever Girls, which was my first yuri i ever read, it just feels the same atmosphere. I love these type of stories.

Yeah I think the curse was lifted as it was killing her, a last minute save, so her life was sparred but it left scars. As long as the scars aren't painful it should be okay, and it appears that they got to live a happy life together.

I could almost see this as an allegory to how healing love can be in the face of a poisonous unfair world. Or something like accepting yourself can break your own curses.

idk how to explain it concisely, but it feels like a really poignant allegory for past abuse and the poison it leaves behind in future relationships. her aunt may have been trying to protect her, but what she did in reality left bella isolated and hurting for a very long time. so the curse is literal but also symbolic of how the scars of her past continue to poison people she cares about. and it's interesting because, her aunt set the conditions, right? she said "if you're hurt, the right person will eventually come and save you," and the setup implies that from basically the beginning.

but it isn't anna's love itself that saves her but her choosing to love anna. love is a really vulnerable thing. it's terrifying to be exposed like that, and poison is a plant's defense mechanism (much like trauma-based issues were at one point helpful during the trauma, but now only make things worse). the actual healing only occurred when she let that wall down and opened her heart, and it required her to actively decide and retake what was important to her. if you think about it that way, it's kind of like the RGU finale? similar thing going on, but imo this is twice as romantic. beautiful story and art

Why she didn't kiss her first?! Now she has scars on her body that won't heal?

I don't think either of them minds the scars at all.
