Option 1-- The knight (Alice) likes and has a crush/or love with the princess like many comments suggested above. (Poly route or sad heart-broken but learn to deal with it route.)
Option 2- Alice despises MC/Nana for her timid nature (Call herself useless) or due to claiming that Alice is so elegant/fearless/sense of justice. Basically hating MC's personality, timid/meek nature.

Option 3- Just becuz of random reasons. Since sometimes people just hate or dislike others just becuz.
Option 4- Alice wanted to be "Saint" to be with the princess...Though that is kind of similar to Option 1 but could be possible she wanted to a "Saint" due to the Miasma hurting someone she cares about though??
At least Alice told the princess she was rude to the MC though...Props to her for being honest about that and willing to take a punishment...

The way their eyes met in the beginning was exactly the way people look at each other before a super passionate kiss, and I was convinced her knees were gonna give out if it went on any longer. Also! I have to say, the whole “I’ve never thought of being with a woman before” comment really added a lot of me too! It gave me a sense of “oh this isn’t de-gendered sort of unsexed fluff yuri, this is Homosexual Gay Shit and that really adds a lot. It means a lot to me when the acknowledge that, idk it changes the feel of things. Is that just me?

Anyway it’s really cool at how that kind of nod that This is Gay works even in a manga where we’ve only heard a man mentioned in passing.

I’m def following this series, for a while there I was worried it might just be shallow wish fulfillment stuff what with everything going right, but the past couple chapters have added a bunch of interest points. Excited to add another series to my following list.

We knew that from the first pages of the first chapter, Nana is talking to her mother on the phone about her husband... not to mention, I would probably assume so even if that little detail wasn't there, since it would be very weird to have a plotline about teleporting to another world, and having the original world be different than the actual real world (now that I think about it, are there any examples of that kind of storyline ever? usually the referenced "original world" has so little screentime that it never actually matters).

... also, a little thing obvious in hindsight, why would Hannah have to knock on your window instead of on your door, when she's effectively the host? Some fuckery is happening here.

Definitely not just you. There are a lot of (mostly) fluffy yuri that don't make any distinction about the romance being homosexual and just shove it under the umbrella of "romance" without a second thought to the characters being the same gender.
And it of course would be nice if reality functioned this way, where everyone could love freely and nobody paid any mind to the gender of a person that someone is having feelings for. But that's not how our reality works, so it can be a bit jarring when it happens in certain works that otherwise seem to be taking place in our reality. Cough Sasakoi cough

This manga is surprising in how the isekai world is 404 Men not found yet we're still getting thoughts from our MC about this. It would be easy just to ignore it and treat the romance as nothing other than standard romance, like it is for this world.
