Hah, really just straight up Lübeck. What a weirdly deliberate choice to use an actual town's name when it would've been so easy to use some other random, German sounding name of a city that's not real. Like Bielefeld or smth~

More than 50cm Wow!, either way the hight gap is very cute and it adds a lot of character to their relationship :)

I really like this series, everything is progressing smoothly and I appreciate that just 7 chapters in we learned about the Day of the Ashes instead of being dragged on. I wonder if there's a meaning on the dragon looking so similar to Frost's Black Knight armor.

On their fanbox, Sometime and Suou talk quite a bit about what happens on each new chapter, and the updates are free so are a good read to understand more about the series. In these posts, Sometime posted the reference sheets of the two new characters: Violet and Shion

While Suou promises that with the introduction of them, the yuri will expand from Clarice and Frost's relationship into new and unexpected directions.

In Chapter 6, Dahlia’s whole aura and appearance is really attractive & captivating, I might actually be falling for her. on a another note, This series is great it has a concept and storyline that feel both familiar yet unique, with well-placed comedic moments. The slow-burn relationship between the Dark Knight and Clarice also has a charm of its own as it develops.

Can we just appreciate for a moment how handsome the two leads look in casual clothes in this chapter? Also, the new pairing (Violet x Shion?) are very easy on the eye, too. I am assuming they rep the Graat company?

My guess is that the previous Black Knight was the woman whom Frost keeps seeing in her flashbacks. Frost must have picked up her armor after her death, which explains why she is so clumsy in using it.

I see what you did there. =__=

I wonder if this fictional fantasy town has good (and overpriced) marzipan. Also these new characters look fancy.

My theory is that the "dragon" that attacked is the previous black knight and that's why the "Black Knights" are special compared to other knights. They have a unique power (The armor?) but it comes at the risk(?) of losing control and turning into a dragon and that's what happened to the last one. It's also why Frost is so closed off, because she had to fight (and kill?) her predecessor whom she cared about, and she's worried about getting close to anyone in case she ever transforms herself.

That sounds metal, but I do not think that it's very plausible, for two reasons: first, the dragon was said to have been red, not black. I know it sounds somewhat silly, but color-coding is traditionally important in henshin plots. Secondly, while this page clearly shows that the BK armor corrupts its wearer in some way, it's quite a leap from there to turning into dragons. If the previous BK turned into that dragon from wearing the armor, I do not see a plausible sequence of events of how that armor ended up with Frost. IMO it still makes much more sense that the prev. BK was defeated by the dragon (possibly weakened by the corruption), and Frost took up her armor in her honor. She did not have to kill her mentor with her own hands to be traumatized by her sudden and gruesome death.

It's nice to be able to see a bit more of their environment, as Clarice continues the project of trying to rehabilitate the big bundle of repression that is Frost, by teaching her to think like a Stardew Valley player

Well then it's curious that they specifically mentioned that the dragon was red. Maybe "Celaria" was the Red Knight.

None of that is much of a narrative obstacle imo, nor is it particularly contradictory to my proposed theory.
Given that Frost summons her armor and it appears bonded to her beyond being simply something she wears, it's not unlikely it can change/is defined by the wearer to some extent, possibly even being a literal manifestation of the wearer in some way. (Curse? Hereditary power? A seal against great evil passing from vessel to vessel?)

Her predecessor's armor may simply have looked different from hers, such as incorporating more red into the design, because she was a different person; or it may have even been a different armor "set" altogether and each "Black Knight" manifests their own design.

Furthermore, it's also possible that turning into a dragon made it more red to be further representative of the wearer having lost control and becoming "corrupted" by literally shifting the color scheme, and her actual armor wasn't as red as the dragon.

Your other "points" are indirectly already explained with the above possibilities.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I'm starting to think I might be onto something because pieces fall into place quite nicely. For instance, why the (still unseen) king has gone out of his way to order by royal decree that the Black Knight has to marry someone.

That's an incredibly unusual and suspicious decree, certainly not something a ruler would ever do outside of extreme- or specific circumstances, and strongly suggests that either the King has a personal relationship to Frost or she is of truly immense importance.

Like, for instance, being a Barrier Maiden holding off an evil force and thus inherently requiring an eventual successor... for example an offspring?

Calling it now: Frost is a Jinnchuriki.

See this page: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/i_want_to_make_black_knight_fall_in_love_with_me_ch02#19

Basically the king didn't want the high ranking noble house (and the associated territory) to go without an heir. How this matters when Frost was able to succeed the previous Black Knight is unclear.

Also we do see the king (I think, could be a generic king) here: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/i_want_to_make_black_knight_fall_in_love_with_me_ch02#6

That's not really a sufficient explanation imo.
I don't think I'm getting across just how outrageous it is for a king to have ordered the "patriarch" of a seemingly unrelated noble house to get married by royal decree no matter what. Not married to anyone in particular, just married.

It doesn't matter to a king who rules any particular territory and a noble house's succession prospects are none of their concern. Whether a noble house goes extinct or gets replaced by another doesn't matter to a ruler unless it's either their house, a house they care about for personal reasons or a house of immediately vital importance either to the royal family or the kingdom.

IE: Either Frost is objectively incredibly important to the kingdom or they have some kind of relationship with the royal family.

Nice choice of alias there. "Schwartz" is just German for "black."
