That has never made any sense to me. Imo separating yuri and futanari is just confusing and doesn't accomplish anything

I'd weigh in on the side that futa and yuri should generally remain separate with considerations for if a work is clearly aiming to be yuri genre fiction. With rare exceptions, such as the Love Live Sunshine doujinshi by Mikan mentioned above, futa has been historically and still is a very distinct, very fetishized genre consumed as het porn. Basically, futa is a commercial genre of het porn and it's weird to tag it as yuri.

I disagree bc futanari is mainly a depiction of perfect human hermaphrodites, that can be consumed by both girls and boys equally, also if futanari cant be considered yuri so it shouldnt be the strap on... And dont even try to use the "but it isnt a real dick" bruh its the representation of one used by lesbian or het couples that are into pegging.

Also i cant speak for lesbian couples, im just an average het dude, but regarding futa as "mainly for het consumption" when most of the men i see online are very against the idea of futa issssssss.... XD

Your original post was about why strap-on is considered yuri but futanari is not. Yuri is between two women, a futanari is neither a woman or a man.

But in any case a strap-on is not a "representation" of a dick, it's a sex toy. Some dildos do look like actual penises but I can honestly say I don't know a single lesbian that uses one of those.

There are people that definitely appreciate and enjoy the work, so I would say don't sweat it. There is of course controversy in the comments, but remember the majority of people reading the work aren't commenting. A lot of those people enjoy the work and appreciate the upload, and so I say it's better to upload it and let the rest sort it's self than not uploading it all in my opinion.

I am confused

Basically it's a question of whether NSFW works involving trans characters should be tagged as Transgender+NSFW+Yuri/Yaoi/Het (assuming there's no seperate yuri/yaoi/het pairing in the same work) or as simply Transgender + NSFW. We could potentially add tags for transcentric subgenres (eg. Trans-yuri) as better indicators of content, but there might not be enough works to warrant those just yet.

I don't like the "Transgender + Yuri/Yaoi/Het" tag combo because it could mean the work has transgender relationships or both transgender and cisgender relationships. The reader has no idea, especially since the vast majority of Yuri/Yaoi/Het tags on Dynasty Scans are cisgender.

The fact that Dynasty Scans went with "Transgender' + Yuri/Yaoi/Het" and not "Transgender + NSFW" means we value defining the gender of the relationships high enough to tag it. In that case I think it is perfectly fine to let the reader know if the relationships are cisgender or transgender with tags. I would go with these tags:

"Yuri" "Yaoi" "Het" = cisgender relationships

"Trans-yuri" "Trans-yaoi" "Trans-het" = transgender relationships

"Transgender' + Yuri/Yaoi/Het" is playing genital roulette.

being trans by itself is no indication of what kind of physical makeup the charcters may have.

This isn't a dedicated hentai site where it might be worth having specific related tags and getting that hung up over genitals.

"What ifs" and "this could happens" are fine in a theoretical discussion around resolving an existing ambiguity are cool, but defensive ontology development always comes with steeply diminishing returns.

Seriously, if you can't figure out from the tags and the barest hint of context that the book - one that's clearly featuring two girls, one of whom is known to be trans, and the tags put them in an intimate situation and you know the trans girl probably still has her OEM genitalia - involves a penis at some point, I'm not sure there's any helping that sort of derangement.

I agree with your statement, it's not up to us to talk about such a controversial subject here. Despite reality showing us such terrible things, what matters is that we have fun reading a light and peaceful story, no matter if it's real life controversy or fiction.
