Why the horror tag? It's not necessary, there is nothing scary about this.

Also yeah, it was super obvious. The only unexpected thing was that she actually tried to kill herself from that cliff and it didn't work.

I think "scary" is pretty subjective and dead baby buried in the woods might be scary to some.

That aside, woah, I'm excited for chapter 3. Maybe we'll get a dad appearance?

already predicted this but it's still pretty gross. I think I'm gonna wait till this finish to give it a try, waiting for each chapter for this series makes me lose interest quickly.

while the revelation itself isn't a twist given how heavily it was foreshadowed, what is a twist is (a) that it's getting stated so early and (b) Colin's attitude toward it, and just her behavior in general. her smirk while saying it, the way she brags about how much her father "loves" her, even how she doesn't wear underwear, all establish the extent to which her father has been psychologically manipulating her. but the fact that she offhandedly mentions she once attempted suicide indicates that she does understand on some level the horrific nature of the abuse she's suffered. is her normal behavior an act she consciously or unconsciously puts on, or is it just extreme compartmentalization? i guess we'll find out in future chapters.

i'm also very interested to see how Mary will react. again, the fact that the revelation came so early means that Mary's character development will be a major aspect of the manga. she just learned something that the vast majority of adults would have no idea what to do with, much less a lonely and scared 12-year-old. she doesn't even have anyone she can trust to talk about it with. everything is certainly set up here for an inevitable tragedy, but i will continue to hope for a miraculous semi-happy ending.

Given the start of chapter 1, that might be the end of whole story. Colin and Mary might be part away and Colin was never saved from this abuse situation. Sigh, this fking dad

Hummm, I still see no horror, I mean, content for horror tag, maybe in future chapters, but I am liking the development so far,I think.

I don't understand why people make this kind of story with heavy subject and especially when it involves children. I can understand if it's about child abuse and when it's only use to make feel more empathy with the character going through that. But here it feels like the author is going going to only give use torture porn with children... They have to stop doing that

First and foremost, it's fictional. No real life person of any age was harmed, so the author can do anything and everything. Child abuse as backstory to invoke empathy is ok, but it's not the only possible usage, the author is crafting a story, if they finds a new way to use an element that fits the story, then it goes into the story, that's normal. Moreover there are technical aspects to it: Heavy subjects would be even more heavy when they are inflicted on the weak and naive/innocent characters like children, and there are plot lines that only work if the characters are children...

I believe the readership/audience has the freedom to choose whether to consume a work, while the authors have the total freedom to create whatever story they could think of and could express into a presentable form. If one reader finds a story to be distasteful, then they should drop it and read other stories. It's not like the existence of a weird story would delete the existence or limit the growth of other "good" stories, it's no longer the age where books must be copied by handwritting and only a limited number of people knows how to write. The abundance of and the ease of access to information and works (fiction or otherwise) nowadays are unprecedented in human history, the choices are practically limitless. It makes no sense trying to impose what sort of story an author should or should not create.

It's not because it's fictional that you can say and draw everything you want. It's not because they were not real persons harmed that you can show the more hateful and immoral things in your story. Words and pictures have meanings and can be more harmful and impactful than any physical actions. This stupid argument and the other "people choose what to read" are the things that lead us to have story (manga, anime, BD, comics ....) that show and spread harmful ideas that actually hurt real people.
And in this case, there is nothing to justify the choice of actor to show little children being abuses and one of them impregnate by her dad ? WTF !

The point of the story is that these characters either suffer or are confronted with horrific, unimaginable abuse and trauma at an age when they are not remotely equipped to deal with it. I don't see what "harmful ideas" are being spread.

Considering how they treated Marys' mother as faceless, they might do the same, and all we get is his dad bod.

I wonder how Mary will now respond to this development?...

Also, now I can read all the spineless people quake like there's never been stories about fetus deletus.

Albeit,now one wonders,was it a stillborn,abortion,or even murder?...

You believe video games cause violent crime, the lesbian comics are making all Catholic girls into lesbians, rock music creates delinquent degenerates, movie ratings aren't biased, cartoons are for children only, and that fictional depictions of lolis need to be protected under child laws instead of using the resources wasted on presecuting lolicons to catch actual creeps whilst protecting real children.

Gatekeeping people from interacting a piece of media, sure, but gatekeeping the media creators themselves?

The whole premise of fictional works is to showcase literally anything, and to make a nice sum of wing wings from it.

And making that sweet dough from showing the aftermath of a fictional girl getting railed by her dads' choo choo train means that there is a market of people who want to see more of this, more dramatic stories about this, and plenty wish to see how it ends.

There's no need for anyone to justify anything beyond the simple action of storytelling and making money from fiction.

That's about what we thought.
I wonder if this'll help Mary put things into perspective, since there's honestly nothing anyone can do for Colin at this point.

Edit: Well, no, Mary can save Colin. It just involves murdering Colin's dad and getting away with it, impersonating her mother to get Colin adopted, then killing her mother and getting away with it again. Not happening lol

Really hoping that grave wasn't for a fetus given how Colin had shackles on the first page, declined to respond to "So what were you raising?", and called herself "mommy", among other things.

Now might be the time to tap out on this one, dear reader.

welp
