Is this group dysfunctional or highly functional in convoluted ways?????

It feels like it's building a similarish group dynamic to "She is Also Cute Today?" But I'm not sure. That would be lovely though.

This was definitely a cringey chapter where it felt like everything got swept under the rug and the MC apologized even though she just had to apologize to her customers, not that asshole. It All felt forced and unrealistic, and it makes me think that they're like a ticking time bomb of resentment waiting to blow. DESPITE all that, Imma still keep reading cause there's something enjoyable about how uncomfortable this is and I enjoy most of these characters. So I hope this keeps getting updated

It's actually pretty realistic for grown adults who've already settled the issue through violence like that to relfect upon themselves,so having them settle it for good by being neutral(or in this case, positive)relation wise makes sense.

Albeit,it's more of a thing for 30 years old and above who're in stable situations in terms of work, family, education, law enforcement, health, economy, and nation.

With that out of the way,it's now time for board game night!

Nah fuck off Baba. Is it wrong that I just want a series based around the gay panic of our MC at the bar while she slowly reels other MC? Because that's what I was hoping this was gonna be when it first started. Hopefully we wont see the idiot cheating scumbag for a bit and we can just see the two we actually want to see spend time together.

Except no, because Baba bitch boy stuck around, with no more purpose as a character except to confuse the reader and make them uncomfortable.

He's only there because the brother wanted him to be, it's obvious in-universe, let alone from a story perspective.

This manga probably isn't for you because of the history of cheating elements tbh, I'd just drop it.

This is one of the most trollish manga I've ever read, it's like it was precision-engineered to piss off the average manga fan, and I unironically have nothing but respect. Manga this stridently anti-wish fulfillment are rare and need to be treasured. Because see, @Naresh44444 is right: adults don't have the luxury to only be able to associate with "good" people. Baba is a bad person, but the MC needs to find ways to get along with him because he's important to her crush and is even becoming friends (or something more??) with her brother now. That's life!

We expected yaoi, we might get some form of polyamory or harem x_x

Yeeeah if there's more of the ex I think I'm going to drop this. It started out so well too. I'm starting to get bad vibes from the main love interest too. But tbf she probably doesn't know the MC is into her and bringing her ex to the movies with her is just awkward

I am getting bad vibes from her too. It's like she's uninterested in stuff. Love interests with a bland personality and forgettable presence on top of that are really annoying to read/watch. At times I thought the entire movie thing could have happened if MC's brother decided to invite Baba-kun to join his plans with his sister. They would see that they had similar interests, they'd patch it up the same way. I really don't see the love interest doing anything special or that really helped what little bro did. She was just... there

Lmao I didn't expect people to still go this ballistic in the comments. I don't think it's that complicated, it's a comedy manga and the humour is precisely coming from the awkward interactions :P And I think I said it earlier but these unusual setups are clearly this author's shtick. Personally I quite liked it.

I read maybe 15% of that. It was boring and cringe like the other commenter said.

I tried liking this one even with the existence of a bi tag with it's poor history in yuri since the artwork and first chapter was great. But it seems very apparent that the author doesn't know what to do with the given assignment.

A comedy about shitty people can be funny, but every main character has to be shown to be shitty to some extent, like on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (or The Bad Place for a milder example). Three regular people with no obviously scummy side wanting to be friends with a scummy yet mediocre guy is not funny, it just kinda sucks.

personally I lost interest and hope in this after the girl with the bob haircut broke up with her boyfriend but continued to hang out with him, even though he cheated on her. That just feels like a lack of self-respect. The story doesn’t seem to be going anywhere either. I initially expected a cute story about a girl who serves drinks and a girl who visits to unwind, where they gradually build a connection, but Nah that ain't happening. :P

I think we were in the wrong all along, turns out this manga was actually about the cheating boyfriend all the time!

Probably as a kid I’d have a lot more straightforward upset anger at the direction of the story. But as an adult I think it’s pretty mature way to handle things. They’re adults in a comedy type manga. The casual interaction of them blowing up getting upset and now dealing with the fall out is pretty adult like. Not everything is a major event in adulthood. She got upset, made a friend, friend realized she isn’t compatible and is able to compartmentalize he’s better as a friend than a partner especially their long history of knowing each other. She’s doesn’t feel bad and carries on with life and brother and Mc had an awkward smoothing out interaction cause mc wanted to get along with crush. All very understandable adult aspects. It’s better they have maturity to move on and not treat it like a drama drilled through story

The dynamics between the characters feels weirdly... odd and unnatural. I don't mind the unconventional relationship the ex-boyfriend and the light haired lady, could even be interesting to explore, but the motivation behind maintaining an unconventional relationship like that feels incredibly shallow and hand-wavey.

It's like the author had an idea about a relationship structure they REALLY wanted to include but completely missed the part where they should've established the foundation for it. We went from "causing-a-scene-in-public" over cheating in one chapter and then acting like it's nbd in the following one, with everything having seemingly been solved off-screen. Feels very meh all around

Baba’s rep is tarnished among the customers lol

Kinda deserved cuz he still did cheat, but it’s funny seeing them confused—

Moving on

WHOA, PINKIE PROMISE?? They touched hands! How lewd!

Honest question: why is "he's fun to hang out with" a shallow or hand-wavey motivation? It's the main reason for friendship in my experience.

Likewise. I had never heard of this series until this latest chapter was posted. Went back and read the earlier chapters and boy, it's weirdly interesting.

It's not necessarily the "He's fun to hang out with" on its' own that feels shallow, it's certainly a valid reason to be friends with someone. But, at least imo, breaking the trust in a relationship by cheating FAR outweighs any level of "fun" that person might bring. If the light haired lady has an unconventional view on relationships and infidelity and "he's fun" being a strong enough reason in her view to outweigh the cheating, I'd expect a much more amicable break up than causing a scene in public. Otherwise it feels like a massive leap going from one to the other and it's not convincing at all as a reader. In my opinion, of course.

When asked about this, Midori said:

I was supposed to be mad about his cheating, but I realized that I was more upset that he wouldn't consider marriage as an option with me. I was worried about Baba-kun, who had countless relationships with women. But I thought that alone wasn't important and we could just get married. Even if he cheated, I would just punch him and we'd still be a married couple. But it's because you were so worried about me, ma'am, that I changed my mind!

It was never the cheating, per se, that was a problem for Midori. She knew he'd been cheating on her for a long time. What she really wanted was a commitment from him, i.e. marriage, and if she got that she wouldn't even mind him cheating on her. It was specifically because -- aided by Kyouko -- she realized he was never going to marry her that she got pissed off at him and broke up in a messy way. But now that they're no longer in a relationship, that reason no longer applies.
