I mean Watamote is one step away from being a yuri series already at this point. It’s been years since she was an awkward girl always embarrassing herself trying to get boys.
Yeah I like fanart of almost all the pairings but Asuka x Tohoku seems like the only one that's intended to be canon. I love how into each other they are, and I hope the stupid popularity polls don't end up making the authors go in a different direction.
I don't think they're pivoting to romantic YuriMoko at least. There have been lots of recent chapters of them in traditionally romantic settings (sleepover, late night call, alone in the nurse's office) with absolutely nothing romantic happening. There might be more focus on their friendship, though.
