Is "Alpha" a concept that exists in Chinese culture? I'm curious. Certainly never seen it for sapphic stuff before.

Yeah, it's hilarious because nowadays it's completely acceptable for any normal person to call someone an A or B. Although compared to the west the connotation is a bit different, calling someone an "A" is basically calling someone a "Chad" imo.

It isn't all in Schenkels (wrong) wolf theory, the heavy emphasis on heat/rut in ABO works comes from Spock/Kirk fics featuring pon farr which is the Vulcan equivalent.(where they die if they don't mate! D:) So Star Trek/Gene Roddenberry are also partially to blame for the doctor in this comic being called an Alpha.
